friendly, kind, and creative, astrid is a high school junior and the embodiment of the lovers arcana. a former child actress well-known for her hollywood roles, she has since retreated from the public eye and moved to seattle in an attempt to reinvent herself. she's now pursuing her passion of painting, and hopes to go to art school in the future. she is an extrovert, but somewhat awkward in social situations and nervous about the idea of being recognized from her former roles, causing her to present herself as far more shy than she naturally is. still, she is a naturally fun-loving person and tries to get along with everyone.
however, as astrid entered her high school years, she no longer felt any passion for her career. she began to resent the attention and embarrassment it brought her, and desperately wanted to pursue her true passion in the arts. her mother became more and more demanding and controlling, and after a major fight with katherine, astrid officially quit acting and moved to live with her father, who had divorced her mother a few years prior, in seattle.
astrid no longer has any contact with her mother or any of her hollywood acquaintances aside from her former agent, anthony finch. while she generally prefers to keep it that way, and is far happier now following her passion, she still finds herself filled with guilt for the life she left behind and the friend she was too selfish to help.
