Kel

About

Kel usually spends his days lazing around reading comics and watching movies. On days he actually leaves the house, it's either to go to work or a bar. He doesn't always get drunk at bars, but rather goes to them regularly to socialize. The times he does go to get drunk, he makes sure to get absolutely shitfaced.

Personality

Without a doubt, Kel is a very laid-back, 'go with the flow' type of individual. His charismatic and confident attitude can be infectious, often calming others down if they're having rough time. 

Despite being helpful to others, Kel often dismisses his own problems. It's common for him to put things off till the last minute, or just ignore an issue all together. Anything he dislikes doing, he tries to avoid completely no matter the importance. At times, Kel can be clueless to when others are mad or upset at him, even if the atmosphere of the room has a lot of tension. 

Backstory

The Atwater family wasn't one with a ton of money, but they managed to get by while they lived in a huge, bustling city. Kellan, better known as Kel, always struggled in school. He hated having to study and do homework, and refused to do either no matter how much his parents would yell at him. Even though all of his teachers knew that Kel never cared for school, they always still found him enjoyable in class. He would often spend time after class chatting with them just for fun, asking about their families or weekend plans. Befriending the teachers was probably what saved Kel from completely failing any classes, to be quite honest.

During his 11th year in school, Kel ended up dropping out to work in hopes of saving money to help his younger brothers' through college (despite his parents' disapproval). That way if they ever needed spare money for anything, Kel could back them up. He didn't want them to worry about needing a part-time job at the same time of their studies.

With his brother Ezra being the first to graduate high school, Kel's efforts already had felt like they were paying off. His brother was able to graduate high school early, get into a college of high prestige, land a respectable internship that was offered to him through friends of professors, and was offered to keep his job once he finished up college.

As a form of repayment to his older brother, Ezra had offered to let Kel stay in his apartment for as long as he wanted, as long as he helped chip in for rent. Of course, Kel quickly took advantage of the offer, glad to now be out of their childhood home. 

Even though earning money is slower now that he has to help with rent, a majority of what he earns still goes to a savings account for his other two younger brothers who have yet to finish school.
