Build: Her pedigree includes plenty of well-built animals, and Tinsel is well-proportioned for her breed. She's a dainty creature, however, and we take extra care to make sure her bones and joints are up to the level of performance we expect from her. Tinsel is built slightly uphill, a fact which is emphasized by her high withers and a natural tendency to carry her long, high-set neck in a fairly upright position. She has a long, straight profile and clean legs, and her shoulders and haunches are solid. Her hooves need shoes during the show season, so a breeder may want to tend toward a heavier-boned stallion.
Temperament: Tinsel has a huge personality for her slight frame! She's bred from tried and true Saddlebred show horses, and she acts like she knows her pedigree by heart. She's so high-headed that getting her truly on the bit is always a challenge, and her energy level is so consistently high that she frequently over-tires herself on long cross-country hacks. She is best at cross-country, though, since she tends to enjoy the challenge and the serenity of galloping alone with her rider across varied terrain.
