Astreha

(I know the song choice feels weird but uh it makes sense to me?) Astreha used to be a carefree child to rather poor farmer parents. However she never felt unhappy or like she was missing out on things, she loved her parents and her life eventhough she had little. All she ever needed was the unconditional love of her parents and the farm animals. She enjoyed playing in the wild, finding new animals to befriend and helping her parents with farm work. She even learned the language of many animals with the help of Podlings, she enjoyed learning and always made sure to fill her diary and journals with as much knowledge as she could, she was a lot like Princess Brea in that way. And just like Princess Brea she believed the lies she grew up with, she thought of Mother Aughra as a god, the soul of Thra and everything she loved, and she trusted in her protection. She believed Aughra was right to leave Thra under Skeksis protection, because how could god ever make a mistake? She thought the Skeksis where good and kind creatures who will always protect all that is Thra. Of course she would not always believe these lies, for the Skeksis where not good acting their part. When she was little a pair of Skeksis came across her parents farm, they were upset about being stranded in the wild, she never knew how it happened,but they were angry and bored which made them cruel. Eventhough her parents offered them food and shelter they showed no mercy, they killed her parents and destroyed her home, for no more than it was their idea of fun. She knew that if she tried to tell people what the Skeksis truly where she would be an outcast forever, they would think she has gone mad for spreading blasphemy. And even if they believed her, if she were to dreamfast with other Gelflings to show them the truth, it would only put them in danger. She was a scared child, but she was recourseful, so she wanted to find a way, she wanted to live a life where she'd become stronger and closer to the Skeksis, she wanted to wait for her time to strike and avenge the peaceful life they had taken from her. But with time this made her angry and bitter, she blamed Mother Aughra for turning away from Thra, and she was sure she'd never forgive her. She joined the Vapras royal guard so she would be trained, she could befriend important and powerful people and she could get close enough to the Skeksis to strike. She would also act as a decoy for Brea and the other princesses, she liked the princesses but Seladon was a thorn in her eye, she has always been blinded by the power the Skeksis gave her, she knew Seladon would never be on her side, she was not the type to let go of her pampered life. But Brea was different eventhough it irked her how much Brea used to look up to the Skeksis, it was just like looking at a younger version of herself, she knew that if Brea would see the thruth she would not look away, but it was not her decision to make, she would not put her in danger. But if Brea ever found her way to the Resistance herself, Astreha knew she'd stay by her side forever.
