Athalia

PERSONALITY.

A Jelveil that is considered to be caring and nurturing, almost like a mother, Athalia is easily flustered but she tends to take others under her wing. She also has a habit of sticking to herself amongst crowds and she often cannot find solace--especially after entering a dark zone. However, when found to be in a lucid state for a short period of time, Athalia quickly writes short notes to her younger brother, Damian, and sometimes to other individuals as well. A hyacinth flower can often be found next to these notes, symbolizing sorrow and regret.

BACKGROUND.

Originally a waitress at a local cafe, Athalia worked long hours to make ends meet. With often-absent parents, Athalia was forced to raise her younger brother, Damian, for many years. It would be an understatement to say that Athalia was struggling. The only place that she was able to find small moments of tranquility was an arboretum only a few miles away. [unfinished, will explain more later about significance] Though, her peace was only temporary. Her brother sensed her unstable nature and came home one day with a strange pill--one that Athalia had never seen before in her life. He claimed that it would make all of her worries go away in an instant, permanently. Reluctantly, she abided and took the pill. Oh, how wrong he was. At first, nothing appeared to be wrong. She was constantly found outside, working in the yard to perfect the landscape. It was truly a magnificent sight to see what she began to create, and as time passed, the beauty only grew as she nurtured everything within it. What was unknown to her brother initially was that she began to suffer from horrendous terrors in her mind after taking the pill. All of those moments she spent in the garden? She was actually dealing with a recurring nightmare internally. It would always be the same scenario: something almost resembling the hanahaki disease, where her heart is engulfed in pain and she begins to cough up flowers endlessly, eventually suffocating in them.
