laire was born to a couple of seemingly entire normal, human origin. She was raised near the German city of Münster in a relatively sheltered village. Her parents and her older sister, Thessa, kind of sheltered her a lot. Besides that her childhood and youth was normal and unimpressive. At 16, she got her Realschulabschluss and started an apprenticeship as a carpenter, which she finished a few months after turning 18.

With the mysterious death of both her parents shortly after her 20th birthday, Claire suddenly had to take on life on her own. Her sister Thessa had departed the family years earlier after major argument with her parents of which Claire never learned what it was about.
Just mere month after her parents death, Claire began to notice slight changes about herself. After years of being a vegeterian, she started craving meat. Her fingernails grew stronger and much more claw like. Her blonde hair started looking more blue-green-ish. The latter Claire thought was the result of way too many hours spent in chlorine filled swimming pools during a particularly hot summer. It took her a few more months to start how many changes were affecting her. Only when Thessa turned up on her doorstep and harshly commanded her to come with her, Claire finally learned of her true nature.

As it turns out, Claires parents had been part of a dragon tribe native to the Alps. After having one child in the tribe and nearly having it taken away to be raised as a hardened soldier, they fled the mountains to live far away amongst humans. Thessa had always known about her draconic heritage - she even remembered the secluded caves in the Alps where she spent her first years. But Claire was born as a human and for some time, her parents believed that her draconic side without other draconics around her had been kept asleep. Of course at some point they knew they were wrong but they never had the heart to tell her before they died.
As of now, Claire is on the run with her sister, currently wandering through the French countryside, where Claire slowly learns to controll her new abilities and form.
