- Grew up in an extremely isolated agrarian village that was secretly under the thrall of a Mirage dragon. The parasite keeps the village shrouded in a bucolic illusion, manipulating them into willing sacrifices to feed her appetite. A passing Imperial scout found the village by accident, snatched Bacchus just as he was hopping on the altar, and dropped him with very little explanation into modern society. He's still hopelessly brainwashed into thinking his community was Fine and Normal, but he's got a good attitude and is now vibing with his new profession and soul-bonded dragon companion.
