About
Tama was born in the 1800s in a Native American Tribe. A Native American girl was in charge of taking her of him and his mama. The two developed a close bond. As a yearling he was traded to a family a settlers that was traveling west. the young girl who raised him was devistated that she woudld never see Tama again. When Tama was traded she made sure that the settler man promised to never change Tama's name. From then on, Tama would always be known as Tama. Once that family settled on their plot of land they began training Tama. As a young colt he had learned to pull skiffs and cart loads of things but he was not saddle broken yet. The settler man and his young son started the task of training Tama. With much trial and error they were finally able to have a ridable horse for the settler's son to use in the managing their growing ranch. Over the next few years Tama learned to be a work horse.
A Working Horse
When his young rider became a teenager they took on the job of running the mail to and from the growing outlying settlements. Tama also spent time driving cattle and sheep on the ranch. A few years later Tama and his young cowboy had to take on a special task. Because of the young cowboy and his family's good relations with the Natives, he and Tama were asked to escort the Cheif's daughter to another tribe down south to be married into the other tribe. This was a dangerous task because there were neigbnoring tribes seeking to stop the union. Tama and his cowboy knew it would be dangerous but they agreed nonetheless. To Tama's surprise, the Cheif's daughter was the young girl who was his cartaker as a foal. The miraculous reunion made the dangerous and tiring trek more beable.
