Katu is a quiet and introverted strawberry popsicle cat. He usually has a blank or grumpy expression on his face, and rarely smiles. He doesn't enjoy talking, and will gesture or make small noises in place of talking most of the time. He only becomes more talkative around people he likes, and there are only a handful of people that he tolerates the presence of, let alone likes. He's easy to anger, and gets physical when he's mad. He's known to beat up people who get on his bad side, but he doesn't go so far as to kill them...even if he wants to.
Katu is a drug dealer who is well known in his city for being dangerous, since he spares no mercy to those who can't pay up, and is eerily quiet. Anybody who tries to steal, blackmail, or otherwise cross him will get their asses handed to them, and he'll refuse to sell to them anymore. Katu's weapons of choice are his own fists, or his signature nailed bat, which he has used multiple times to beat people within an inch of their life. He doesn't want to kill anybody, despite how unnecessaril violent he is; he just wants to get them message across that he isn't to be messed with.
Katu despises most people, but enjoys the company of animals. His favorites are cats, as he has a kinship with them. Cats are drawn to him constantly and follow him around; they rub on his legs, scratch at the door of his motel room, climb all over him, and beg him for food. He doesn't mind, and always feeds all the cats, as well as gives them names, and sometimes even buys them collars or takes them to the vet. He knows almost anything there is to know about cats.

Backstory
As a child, Chris and his younger sister, Shaelynn, were raised by physically abusive and neglectful parents, Lionel and Felicity. Shaelynn was born when Chris was 7. They were very poorly taken care of and treated harshly by their parents, Katu bearing the brunt of the abuse.
When Chris was 10 and Shaelynn was 3, he got into a fight at school. The fight itself wasn't important, but the fact that Chris tried to strangle the other kid was alarming. Anyone who saw would notice the hatred in his eyes as he tried to choke the life out of another 10 year old. Once they were separated, Chris was taken to the office, where he was scolded about his behavior (which even before that moment had been poor). When he was told his parents would be called, he broke down and begged them not to. He showed them the bruises and cigarette burns on his body (which also allowed them a look at his malnourshied frame) and said his parents would beat him again if they found out. One thing led to another, and CPS were eventually at the house to take Chris and Shaelynn away from their abusive household. In present day, neither of them have contact with their biological parents or know what happened to them. Chris hopes they're rotting in hell.
The two of them would enter the foster care system. Shaelynn was adopted out relatively quickly with her adopted sister Bianca, but Chris was not so lucky. He would bounce between foster homes but never be adopted, eventually aging out of the system. While in the foster system, he would begin to hang out with the wrong crowds as a teenager, where he was introduced to drugs. He tried drugs, but never got particularly invested. Instead, he decided he'd rather sell them for profits, and so began his "career" as a drug dealer. He started with small, but would work his way up into a more powerful, well-known drug dealer in his city. He would make a name for himself, Katu, and was known for his eerily quiet demeanor and penchant for violence when someone couldn't (or wouldn't) pay up.
This would be his life for many years. Living out of a motel room, selling drugs, laying low. It wasn't a good life, but it was the life he lived. Katu didn't think there was anything else out there for a guy like him. His life was hard and lonely, though he would never admit to anyone, let alone himself, that he was lonely. Even though he found himself wishing that he had someone, anyone, to keep him company, he was certainly NOT lonely. Besides, he had his cats to keep him company. He loved the cats that followed him more than anything, he took care of them more than he took care of himself. But deep, deep down, he craved genuine connections with other people. He had no friends, no family, nobody he could really trust. Despite that, he always wondered how his younger sister, whom he was separated from long ago, was doing. He knew her name was Shaelynn and she would be a teenager at this point, but otherwise knew nothing else about her. He found himself hoping that one day they would cross paths again.
And cross paths again they would indeed.
- "Katu" is a name he got on the streets. He didn't come up with it himself, but he thinks it suits him.
- Katu has popsicle sticks growing out of his head. They are not horns.
- He always smells like strawberries. When he hasn't showered for a while, instead of smelling sweaty and gross, he just loses his strawberry scent and smells like nothing.
- Katu rarely speaks. He hates talking to strangers, and will talk much more when he gets to know and like somebody. Otherwise, he will either say nothing or use gestures.
- Katu's voice is deep and quiet, and he speaks with little emotion in his voice by choice.
- All of Katu's bodily fluids and body parts taste like strawberry.
- Katu doesn't do drugs himself, only sells them.
- He is constantly surrounded/followed by cats; they are naturally attracted to him. He takes care of any cat that comes his way.
- He enjoys catnip a lot. Smoking it makes him frisky, while eating it mellows him out.
- He likes to draw, usually just using a pencil and paper, and prefers to draw portraits of people. He's quite talented, but isn't really aware that he is; he just likes to draw.
- Katu wanted to be a vet when he was a little kid. While not a vet, he is knowledgable on animal care and how to take care of injured animals (though he knows more about cats than any other animal).
- Katu has a permanent pet cat that lives with him. She is a fluffy white persian cat named Princess. He treats her as such.
- His favorite food is caesar salad.
- Besides selling drugs, katu often drifts between fast food jobs. He has worked at every fast food chain known to man.
- He has a soft spot for kids, and sometimes shows neighborhood kids how to be gentle and take care of the cats.
- Katu can purr just like a cat, but it usually isn't intentional; he gets embarassed when he accidentally starts to purr around other people.
- He also hisses, which also happens when he's hurt, or as a warning to somebody.
- He absolutely hates bugs.
Katu's biological sister. She's anxious but a real sweetheart once she opens up. She was very nervous around Katu when she first met him, but now loves him like they were never separated in the first place. Katu is very protective over her. He sees so much good in her, and doesn't want to see her get hurt like he has. Katu also thinks that if someone as sweet as Shaelynn could come from his family, maybe he isn't so bad after all either.
Shaelynn's adopted sister, and Katu's sister by association. She's tomboyish and blunt, but has a good heart. Bianca and Katu butt heads sometimes (they're both somewhat hotheaded) but they both want the same thing: the best for their sister Shaelynn. They eventually learn to put their differences aside and become friends (and accept each other as siblings as well).
