Rainbow Moonstone

Rainbow moonstone, the rarest of the moonstones, often hold positions as judges and advisors to their diamonds. Gifted with the ability of empathy, they are often the best judges of character, and can give beneficial guidance to the Diamonds that other gems are not able to. They are considered rather high members of their respective courts, treated with respect and addressed as 'your empathy'.

Luna's Facet code and cut identification was 5I7Z 2Q1. It is located in the center of her chest, square over her heart. She generates at three feet, four and a quarter inches, with pearlescent hair, and a thick, curved body. Her eyes are almondine and prismatic. On Homeworld, she wore a dress colored to honor her Diamond, with a sheer skirt and sleeves that shone with the spectrum of colors. Since, however, she has adapted a uniform in the purple, teal and gold of the group she travels with, led by Sugar. [C][B]History

Made for Blue Diamond's court, this Rainbow Moonstone served dutifully and diligently, practically worshipping the ground her Diamond walked upon. She thanked her lucky stars she was made for the most sympathetic of diamonds. She was very happy with her life until one fateful day, she was called upon to testify in the trial of a Snowflake Obsidian known to be allied with the Crystal Gems.

The trial was just like so many others the Rainbow Moonstone had participated in before; she was called upon to use her empathic skills to do what was referred to as a 'reading'. When she placed her hands upon someone, she was able to feel their emotions, to explore their memories through them.

Theoretically, it should have been like any other trial. But the moment she laid hands on the gem, she was shown things she'd never felt before. Beauty and freedom she'd never fathomed. Her whole life had been changed. She was shaken to her core. In that moment, she knew she couldn't condemn this gem to be shattered. She would have to lie. She told her Diamond that the Snowball Obsidian was coerced, that she was a prisoner. That she had been brainwashed. It was decided that she would be spared.

Later that evening, she snuck into the dungeon where the gem was being held, and together they devised an escape plan. They stole a ship and began a long and tumultuous voyage back to earth.

Over the centuries that passed between their departure from Himeworld and the fateful day when they would finally reach their destination, the duo crossed paths with innumerable; more often than not, there qas no love lost between them. However, during one of their more dire captures, they met a Sugalite with a team of rebels that had a plan to escape, but needed their help. In exchange for their assistance, the captain promised them passage to earth on their ship.

While they travelled with this team, Moonstone heard countless stories of earth over the many years that had passed. She learned about the war and the tragedy that had befallen all gems on the planet, about the rise of the indigenous species and the way they still managed to destroy their own planet, without any help from Homeworld.

She also heard of the beauty, too. Of sunsets and oases and flowers and animals we couldn't fathom. How they had a moon that they referred to in some languages as 'luna'. And, when she finally arrived on Earth's shores, it was the most beautiful moon the smll gem had ever seen. She wanted to take this small piece of earth everywhere, so she shed her facet code, and chose to go by the name Luna henceforth.

But despite earth's beauty, she couldn't bring herself to leave the friends she had made aboard the ship that had brought them there. So, along with Snowflake (whose reason for returning had come and gone long ago), she rejoined the crew to traverse the galaxy, looking for adventures and anyone who would like to join them on such endeavors.
