Raphael

General

Raphael is a part of the Clergy of the Spark, and watches over the Temple of The First Ember as a priest. He lives in the temple with many other priests, and is the only one who is not elderly or at least middle aged.

Orphaned shortly after birth, he was left on the steps of the temple and raised by the priests there. One priest in particular took on the role of his main caretaker, being like a grandfather to him. He has very rarely left the temple, and has started to feel depressed about the lack of freedom he has, and from seeing many elderly priests pass in his lifetime.

Appearance

• 5'8", has some muscle but isn't super beefy, generally stronger than he looks. Body type is kind of flexible really. May put on some extra weight if goes a while without doing the typical physical chores he's used to at the temple.
• Light skin, and has two beauty marks by the outside corner and underneath his right eye. More are scattered on the rest of his body as well.
• Hair is long and auburn without bangs. After a certain time, it is more of a long bob. He's growing it out again.
• Eyes are purple and gentle, almost droopy
• Wears the same robes as all other priests in the Temple of the First Ember. Once able to wear normal clothes, he dresses in preppy or vintage sorts of styles. Tends to wear skirts more than pants. Barring excessive heat, he usually wears long sleeves and some kind of boot.

Raphael is very polite and reserved, but not entirely in a stiff way. He's gentle and kind to others. Incredibly honest, he refuses to lie. He has some issues with abandonment and loss.

He's begun showing more emotion after leaving the temple, in part just due to there being more things to be excited about.

Spark

Raphael's spark is called Sacred Fire. It allows for the creation and manipulation of fire. While the only fire he can control is what he creates, he can snuff out any fire spread from his at will. Water makes his spark very difficult to use and much weaker, and in the case of being totally submerged, he would be unable to use it.

Misc.

• Really likes frogs and snakes
• Can cook, but makes things almost criminally bland because he's used to really simple food. Likes making bread the most.
• Doesn't hate children per se, but has so little experience with anyone younger than him that they make him really nervous.
• Afraid of ghosts
• Wears glasses on occasion, but only for reading
