she takes herself pretty seriously and is kind of grouchy, though im not sure to what extent that trait is brought out by being around lydia. she had some kind of important job where she was the big boss in charge of people before she transitioned, and isnt really used to not being important anymore. she left that job super abruptly. she had climbed to the top of the career ladder, and worked there for a while, then one day checked her bank account to realize she had hit a major savings milestone. she'd achieved all her professional and financial goals, and was like. oh, cool. sat there in silence for a bit. and promptly had a crisis about what is the point????? why did i do this????? now what?????? if i keep going am i evil????????? looked around and realized she didnt have any friends and didnt care about a single thing she owned, except her beanbag chair. she worked so hard that she forgot to cultivate a personal life. after spending a while in crisis, she drafted a new budget for herself, turned in her two weeks, and moved away to the town lydia lives in. so now she's been trying out different things she had always wanted to try as a kid. glass blowing is the thing she's stuck with the longest. her home is super colorful, with big tapestries on the wall, the beanbag thats getting a little sad, and some houseplants she's not great at taking care of.

and then died in an accident. her irritation over wasted time and stubbornness about staying in the world meant she didn't manifest as a normal ghost, but as a reaper, which means.... she basically got employed by the universe collecting other ghosts and helping them move to the other side. she's working, again, and super pissy about it. shes only allowed to move on when she fills her lamp, which glows a little more with each spirit she helps.

she and lydia keep running into each other because they have basically the same job. so they agree to work together. lydia deals with any troublesome spirits; pierre helps them across.  

lydia becomes incredibly fixated on uriel and "saving" him, and he keeps fending her off, and the Uriel Issue causes friction between Lydia and pierre.
