Rift

Rift is a mercenary with a reputation for never failing a job and never getting caught. Nobody knows exactly how much he makes, but it's definitely nothing short of hundreds of thousands per job; after all, his level of skill and discretion is invaluable. He's quick, precise silent. Everything mercenary should be.

But when he gets home... All of that melts away. He's a family man, married to a detective, no less! The two have adopted a child together, and they live a peaceful domestic life (apart from the murders). Rift couldn't ask for anything more!

A few years back, an ace detective was sent after Rift to find and arrest him. The mercenary managed to get the case to run completely cold, severing any and all ties he had to anyone that could rat him out. But rumour has it the detective found him anyway, and yet... Here Rift stands, still walking free. Curious.

• Has a low, deep voice. Very soothing for lullabies, actually! Shame that lullaby might be the last thing you'll ever hear...
• Has very few scars for a man in his line of work. It's a credit to his skill.
• He can use pretty much every weapon you could put in his hand, but he does tend to prefer butterfly knives for their grace and beauty. He's training his son to use one. For... self-defence.
