Personality: Can be overprotective and take things too seriously. Will get offended, not herself, but for others in many situations. Always on guard and very untrsuting around other cats and animals (especially humans), but when alone will take time to have some fun and relax in her peaceful part of the forest that she calls home with Grace.

Important fact:

Ayla has a strong ability to communicate with other animal species. Even though she is very self-conscious around many, this power allows her to communicate with them so she knows what's going on. She also uses this power to communicate with her very few friends (example: Grace).

Humans would be the one species she can't talk to, not just because they are her enemy as they destroy the forest for economic reasons (like irl), but because we're quite different than many species. We have so many languages in our world. She'd never be able to understand us through language or actions, unfortunately.

How is this beneficial to her story/character? This ability will prevent Ayla from having a boring story; rather than being the only character we know of besides anonymous humans, she has other animals that she can talk to for varied opinions on what to do and how to handle everything. Yes, there are other cats in the forest, but there aren't very many, and diversity will add to make it more interesting.

How is this a major flaw to her story/character? Considering that humans would be doing so much damage to the forest, the thing Ayla would want to know the most is why, how, when, etc. that they're doing that, and she can't, leaving her to have to find out on her own and plan against it ahead of time.
