Her father, Iceripple was infamous for killing the deputy (his own father, Coldripple) and attempting to kill the leader. He was then exiled and eventually killed. Swanshade had to live in the shadow of Iceripple, as she was the only one of her littermates who had white fur like he did. Her clanmates saw this as a bad omen and distrusted her.
