All Rocoban gods are known for being symbols of wisdom. All except for Mandrake, whose own legends resemble those of monster stories than those of glorious beings to be worshipped. This is because Mandrake is unfathomably aggressive, taking the lives of anyone unlucky enough to wonder into his jungle, including the lives of other gods.

Background

He does not speak, and though his eerie howls and roars can be heard for  miles, his victim's deaths are often silent and horrific, being either  mauled, consumed, or constricted to death by the jungle's vines. His section of the island is arguably even scarier when it's silent, as the chorus of wildlife only goes silent as he's about to attack. It is unknown why he is so aggressive, but the strange hypnotic messages that enter the minds of lost wanderers who enter the forest tell them to leave from the forest as soon as possible or face the fate of those before them. But with the jungle as thick and treacherous as it is, by the time his victims hear the message, it's too late. Some have actually made it out of the jungle alive after years of being lost within it, but they often come out as shells of their former selves or even as physically and mentally, completely different people.
