The Earth Kingdom is the most prosperous among the Eastern Nations, enveloped by stone walls deemed unbreakable. Beyond the gates lies a golden city, upkeeping their peace between diplomat and citizen. Even the Earth Kingdom is always prepared for the worst - for when an outside army tries to come and conquer them, they have their own.

Among their greatest soldiers, lies a brilliant commander. The moment the Earth beneath her quivers under their feet, she has already owns the battlefield.

About

Because of her reserved nature, many often introduce her as Lady En, or "The Commander of the Ancient Army," a moniker that not many expect her to have. But realistically, she only refers herself simply as "Xian" thus she prefers a casual conversation over recieving immediately praise and grace by others. She's neither a diplomat, or a brilliant speaker, but many do consider her well-spoken for someone who has spent the majority of her life as a soldier in battle. She is also educated, providing relevant insight to those who are asking for it.

Xian will naturally be kind to most people, foreign or not. She'll likely not turn down a plea for help, though won't take action unless one asks for her support. However, people should know she cannot be crossed or fooled with; especially with the power she has in hand - not many have tried to mess with her. However, she becomes quite cynical to those among the Fire Clan and quite wary due to their natural behaviors as demons. And despite her title, she loves the Earth Kingdom as her own home - but she doesn't consider herself as a loyalist to the entire Kingdom. She simply takes her duty as a commander to maintain peace, and nothing else.

The Ancients and her Predecessors

The Earth Kingdom maintains a particular tradition that has lasted for centuries, if not longer than that. Every single individual that has fallen or passed away, the prized clay craftsmen use their talents to create a life-sized, identical terra-cotta figure are to be buried with them regardless of their social class. Though the deceased will have their bodies decay over the years and turn to dust, these clay statues would last forever. Over the years, there might be at least millions of these statues that live underground throughout the Eastern Nation.

And so what is the significance of these figures?

Every few generations, there has been a chosen soldier that is blessed by the God of the Earth. They have the ability to shake the ground beneath them, and the rumbling arises these terra-cotta figures to life. The Commander of the Ancient army is highly regarded among the Earth Kingdom, because they command these statues as they please. Rarely Xian and her predecessors use living soldiers in the battlefield unless certain circumstances call for necessary precautions. However, it's not just clay soldiers that the Commander can summon. If desperate, the chosen ones can summon even larger things. In this case, Lady En has the ability to erect walls to protect her kingdom, or summon a ginormous Earth serpent to fight larger figures.

Background

En Luxian was born a farm girl that wasn't very far from the capital of the Earth Kingdom and at such a young age, she accepted that she was going to remain a peasant girl for the rest of her life. Over the years, she was oddly curious of her father, who always appears mysterious around individuals outside of their farm. It only became apparent that her father was hiding away from everyone, when her mother would often shoo away visitors that were unfamiliar to the both of them. Eventually, at the age of 9, she discovered her father's powers: He was one of the Gods that the adults spoke about. She knew of the Earth god wanting to hide himself away from the public - but never did she expect that her own father was the very figure.

Xian had very little interest in the army, until she had an encounter with a couple of demons from the Fire Clan. With their violent nature, they began to raze through villages that they'd pass by, taking advantage of the absence of the Commander, who recently passed away. When she tried to retaliate, she almost died in the process but then saved by the blessings of her father. She felt guilty since the incident, and wished that she could have done something differently. By 14, decided that she would be drafted into the army and train - hiding the blessings of the Earth God away until it was necessary. Eventually she was forced to awaken these powers when her regiment suffered gravely due to an ambush against one of the Fire Clan's little groups. Afterwards she was immediately sent to the Capital for everyone to recognize her as the next 'Commander.'

Trivia

  • Her staff is a single bamboo. And she can freely sprout as many of them out of the ground as she pleases. It's tough enough to break the hardest of steel but even then, it's still prone to breaking and wearing down. En Luxian is prone to even losing them too.
  • Her most famous ability is to summon life-like terra-cotta soldiers out of the ground. She can also traverse the Earth as well by burrowing herself (and others) into the ground and pop out somewhere else. However, normal humans cannot survive the underground for very long due to the lack of air and therefore she never buries anyone unless she has the intent to kill.
  • After spending so many years in the army, she highly respects the Earth Kingdom soldiers. And many soldiers sees her as a friend. However, Xian is quite popular girl back in the capital; especially among all the mages and politicians (despite she has very little to no interest) in any of them.
  • Xian has longtime loyal friend, and a sworn sister named Lady Wen. Though they are not related, Luxian regards her as her little sister. Lady Wen has known her since they were at the farms together.
  • Lady En doesn't like to talk much about her father, as she understands that its out of respect for him, a God that simply wants to be left alone. In fact, she hasn't seen her father since she left to join the army. From what she last heard, him and his mother moved father away, but close enough to keep an eye out on Xian for when something happens.

En Litari II [ Lovers ]

It was said that Lady En had no interest in a romantic relationship. She was more than willing to marry a politician out of business over love... not until she's met a King from the outside nations. Never did she expect to even like a foreigner, but there was a connection that she had with him, but surely the indifference between their homes - it felt like their love was almost impossible. Or so she thought.

Feng Gong [ Friend ]

Gong is a wandering warrior. And a god popular amongst the Eastern Nation. His heroic deeds have been recorded for over a century, even En Luxian has recognized his deeds. However, it was odd to hear in person that this man has almost no memories for any of the stories of him, but he still appreciates the recognition regardless. It's on multiple occasions that En has encountered the elder Wind God and she has asked to teach her how to fight.

Wenling Shé [Lady Wen] [ Best Friend ]

Also refers her as "Little Sister." Lady Wen is a loyal companion to the Commander, and the Kingdom's notorious Spymaster. Though she often gets herself into trouble by trying to start fights sometimes, Lady Wen makes sure that Xian is safe and free from being manipulated by the politicians. With her careful work, Lady En doesn't even realize that she had any enemies within the Kingdom walls.
