"You really thought you could keep me trapped there?"

Nexus grew up in the "Reaping's Science Department of Curious Beings" which was a subdivision in The Reaper's Society. He was raised by a Scientist named Alaina; who happened to be working in the RSDCB when Nexus was brought in as a young child.

When Nexus turned 18 Alaina sought him out in the middle of the night to warn him of the RSDCB's plans, he was to be terminated by the Reaping's Society due to his unhinged rage, she said to him "The Scientists have decided that you will never be fit for society, and therefor will be removed from it." The betrayal he felt was unbearable, the anger that festered in his heart grew ever thick. Alaina hugged him for the last time and gave him her Key Card to escape. Though he had an easy way out, he choose to kill every single scientist that he could on the way out, putting a permanent target on his back.
