Story
Yrsa grew up in a small village deep within the Golmore Jungle, nurtured by a large and loving family and enchanted by tales of heroes. As a child, they fancied themselves one such protector, which they acted out by looking after their siblings and other kids their age. The most notable of these was one of her brothers, Elja, who was especially clumsy and shy and with whom Yrsa was very close.
But all too soon, the time came for Elja to leave the village and join the wood wardens, something that Yrsa had been harboring doubts over. Her concern would, unfortunately, be validated when, many years later, their brother wasn't among the wardens when they returned to pick up the next round of recruits.
She learned from one of them that Elja hadn't passed his trial and had run off, presumably to abandon his duty.
Torn between loyalty to their village and love for their brother, Yrsa finally made a choice: to leave the village, exiling themselves in the process, to find Elja and save him from whatever trouble he must be in. She changed her surname to "Errant" to denote severing her ties to Ljoskossa.
A Realm Reborn
Yrsa's search soon brought them to the shores of Eorzea, Gridania in fact, where they found themself entirely out of their element. The people were strange, the towns crowded, and the though the boughs of the Black Shroud's trees bared a passing resemblance to those of Golmore's, the land itself was deeply scarred.
Though, Yrsa quickly endeared themself to the various Adventurers' Guilds, and then soon the Scions, for their earnest desire to help others (and their incredible skill with the bow didn't hurt). As they looked for Elja, they couldn't help but throw their lot in with Minfillia and the rest to "save Eorzea." It felt a little bit like a dream.
Yrsa never saw the Scions as family, much as they tried to be that for her, but they were a refuge in this foreign land for her to find much-needed camaraderie. So when they came under threat of the Garleans, Yrsa stepped forward to save them as well.
They couldn't help but relish a bit in playing the role of Warrior of Light.

Elja Rehw-Bidit [ brother ]
Yrsa and Elja were always close growing up, being the youngest of their siblings, and when Elja went missing from Golmore, Yrsa gave up their place in the village to seek him out and ensure his safety. Nowadays, though, a painful rift has formed between them due to both of them having grown and changed in their time apart.
Minfilia Warde [ trusted leader ]
Yrsa and Minfilia share a mutual respect and admiration for each other - Minifilia for Yrsa's cool head in battle, and Yrsa for Minfilia's ability to bring people together and lead them.
G'raha Tia [ friend ]
"He seems weird" was Yrsa's first impression. And while that thought hasn't changed, they have grown fond of G'raha's weirdness over time. They bond over archery and tales of grand heroics.
Guydelot & Sanson [ bad influences ]
Yrsa often finds herself the mediator between her two travel companions, keeping the peace as best she can. They all care for each other greatly, even if they get Yrsa into trouble frequently.
Leofard Myste [ friend ]
Leofard makes Yrsa feel at ease and reminds them that sometimes they have to let go of their troubles and just enjoy the moment. They have an easy friendship built on a love for adventuring.
Yugiri Mistwalker [ friend ]
They once bonded over being foreigners in Eorzea, but since then they've grown much closer. Yrsa admires Yugiri's determination and stubbornness, and sees similarities between her and her brother. Yrsa considers Yugiri "a real hero, much more than me."
