Synthetic White diamond was created as an experiment by Yellow Light Diamond, to see if Diamonds could be made with fewer resources quicker. and while the experiment did work, there was a synthetic diamond created, she was defective and Yellow Light Diamond didn't like that at all, Synth White was a diamond, but was missing "normal" diamond things, such as an aura ability, diamond pupils (hers are a diamond split down the middle), and was missing her right arm due to her gem placement. 

not wanting to waste what she had made Yellow Light put Synth White in charge of the science sector of her court, and Synth White runs it well! And has made quite a few advancements in gem technology. Such as making more advanced limb enhancers for all gems if they need them, better ships that fit the needs of every gem that uses them, and better weapons for the armies.
