Isopod and Melo had been going to the same school, but before hadn’t ever spoken to eachother. The two first interacted one day at lunch, when Isopod spotted Melo at a table by himself playing on his phone. Isopod thought he was cute and went over and talked to him. After that Isopod stayed persistent and talked to him during class and during lunch. Melo at first thought he was really annoying, but started to think more fondly of him after Isopod took his notes for him a day when he was sick.
After that they slowly grew closer and became friends. As they grew closer, Melo and Isopod relationship had a romantic tension between them, the both were oblivious to the others feelings. One night things went different for the two, which ended up with them kissing. In a panic, Melo worried that he might’ve messed everything up with Isopod so he ran home in the dead of night, to Isopods confusion who thought everything went fine. Melo when he got home realized how he messed up and realized they needed to sort it out, so on Monday at school he left a note telling Isopod to meet him at the park after school. There Melo confessed to him about his feelings and that’s how Melopod started…
Isopod and Melo compliment eachother very nicely. They both help to improve eachother in the best ways, with them both being so similar but opposite at the same time. They struggle with similar issues to to both being severe outcasts, but they also teach things the other isn't good at.
When growing up with each other and having to adjust to university, the two depended on each other for a sense of comfort. Isopod went through a dark time of his life dealing with his insecurities, which set back their relationship as the two tried to cope with it. University got easier as they adjusted more and became more comfortable with the idea of a future.
