not much is known about mystery's childhood. she was ten when her brother was adopted, and sixteen when the world became a wasteland.
at the ripe age of sixteen, the world pretty much ended. mystery was tasked with taking care of her little brother in the wreckage, and started finding ways to make little bits of money here and there to spend at the remaining few civilizations. it started with helping out people, to stealing for people, to working with gangs and other groups, to contract killings. her first kill was done at age 18, and she's been doing it ever since.
mystery has kept to herself for the most part, staying anonymous and behind the masks she wears. she won't take a chance on revealing her identity, and certainly won't risk having something happen to her brother. now, she lives in one of the higher parts of the wasteland.
still, she keeps to herself and lets other people stay strangers. you never know who could be willing to betray you for a little gold -- that's what she thinks, anyways.
