Farrah lived with wealthy parents in Cairo for her entire childhood. Her father never spoke much about his occupation, but her mother was a beautiful actress. Farrah got her blue eyes from her mother. She was a quick learner and mastered speaking English from an American born tutor, leaving her English primarily unaccented and making her a valuable interpreter. Her life was comfortable, but she hated the pomp and circumstance of being wealthy. Farrah would "slum" with the local children after she attended private school and she loved hanging out with the m because they were smart in a way her peers were not. She quickly learned about knife fighting and free running in the same years that her parents paid for private jiu-jitsu lessons and time at the shooting range. She loves to read, especially nonfiction, but does not write.

When she was seventeen she was arrested for trespassing and only her father's influence saved her from being imprisoned. However, the threat of incarceration was not what Farrah was worried about. After her trip through a supposedly haunted building she started seeing lights in the corners of her eyes, most often blue. She soon realized that she could control these lights, and discovered her power. She's not sure what happened, having suspiciously fuzzy memory of the actual events, or what she's supposed to do with the power. After she graduated from secondary school she convinced her parents to finance a gap year where she traveled the world. What they didn't know is that she was looking for answers. All she found was more questions, and a talent for clairvoyance. She made a lot of money telling fortunes and holding seances in various places before settling back in Cairo without her parent's knowledge. She never attended university, but makes a decent living translating books and occassionaly working as an interpreter.
