Personality

The Director is a diva in every sense of the world. He IS Hollywood snark. He's incredibly self-important, cutthroat, and wants nothing more than to be adored for his talents. He has the air about him of a sly yet cool leader, but will get incredibly stubborn if his opinions are challenged, needing to always have the last word. Deep down, though, he's self-aware of how desperately he clings to fame, and he hates it.

Role in the Story

The Director becomes a recurring fight, hailing from Rising Star Studios. Think Popple from Mario & Luigi or Jr. Troopa from Paper Mario- an aggravating boss who JUST WON'T DIE! He also switches his fighting style up a lot, to solo, paired with Blitz, then paired with his friend Wally- the more you fight him, the more he leans into stage magician-themed moves.

Backstory

Hailing from a rural country family- the Millers- this kid had big dreams to make it big in the city. He always knew he had talent, he just needed to show it off! He travelled to performing arts school in Gauss City, and graduated with flying colours. He took to the streets, hailing himself as a stage magician extraordinaire- Mystic Miller! Unfortunately, he failed and failed hard. Desperate, he begs his agent to find him a way to keep himself off the streets, and his agent gets him a directing internship. It's there where a stray white cat on set leads him to a mysterious megaphone that amplies his natural charisma and grants him the ability to control people he speaks to with it. Using that power, he controls people into thinking they really ARE the roles he writes for them, creating incredible 'method actors'. All he needs to do to make sure it doesn't get out of his hands is make them sign magic contracts, shredding them when he wants to let them go. His films start taking off, and he changes his name to suit this to Glitz Glamiller. His films are famous for doing something unique- always letting the bad guys win, almost encouraging villains-to-be to get out there and take the leap. Glitz' magnum opus comes in the form of a sitcom he pitches to a network called Li'l Deville, about a boy supervillain whose day to day activities are littered with attempts to take over the world. The lead star, Billy Goodwin, was picked by Glitz after he saw the kid was ALSO a country kid trying to make it big in acting. The show was a hit! It ran strong for about four or five seasons, until ratings started waning- executives tell Glitz that shows about villains 'just aren't special anymore'. He tells the Goodwins the bad news, and they drive off in a huff, him never hearing from them again- and before he realizes they took Billy's contract with them, it's too late. Now, 10 years later, Glitz finds out the hard way that the Goodwins did the opposite of shredding his contract- they FRAMED it. What's a guy to do?
