⇀ TL;DR

Before Gloria was dragged to a fantasy world, she was a college drop-out shut-in still living with her parents in southern Virginia. Years of being a deeply closeted lesbian with a shitty family left her a shy, socially awkward wreck of a human who can only really interact with people online. This is highly unfortunate, as Gloria has been suddenly transported to a fantasy world. Luckily (?) her unprecedented skill at wishing she didn't exist has left her with an extremely powerful version of [ Presence Concealment ], which is essentially invisibility but cooler. Basically the best specialist (a polite name for 'thief') ever because she's so incredibly easy to ignore. Deep down, she'd love to be considered a hero.

⇀ Overview

Always a passive child, Gloria never really blossomed like any of the children around her. No one was really quite sure what the problem was, why this seemingly healthy child from a perfectly upstanding Christian family couldn't properly socialize with her peers, and instead of thinking critically about the circumstances that might have lead to her anxious nature, Gloria's parents just shoved things she liked at her and hoped that everything would turn out for the best. In a way, Gloria enjoyed her relative freedom. She was never pressured to succeed like her elder siblings, never told that she was the best and needed the best grades to get into the best college. She was given an ample supply of books (mostly fantasy) that her parents bought her completely without thinking about it (until the school began tittering about how the hit-new young adult series that was [gasp!] promoting atheism!) She read fervently, got good-ish grades, and was only sort of bullied because there were people in the class that were more unpopular than her. Sure, maybe she wished her parents paid a bit more attention to her... but this was fine, right? She wasn't totally alone.

This all changed in high school, when her former best-friend outed her as a lesbian and the wrath of god fell upon her.

The resulting nightmare was far too much for an already reclusive girl, and Gloria completely shut herself away. She managed to graduate, but only barely, and with some prodding she managed to drag herself to community college for a single year before totally throwing herself into the realm of video games. Her parents didn't approve of their gay daughter, but they did make a show of being such kind, gracious, and loving examples of humanity that they continued to let her live in their basement while completely ignoring her obvious clinical depression and social anxiety. She managed to get a job doing online coding work, which she'd always enjoyed, and from then on... Gloria lived most of her life online, only leaving the sanctuary of her room when she really had to.

Because of this, Gloria has difficulties interacting with people in real life. She's nervous, terrified of judgement, afraid of failure and, most of all, afraid of what others might due to her if they become disappointed in her. She types quite a bit but speaks very little, she's too anxious to be adventurous, but despite all this... there's still something in her, a profoundly beautiful goodness that causes her to help others without even thinking about it. This manifests itself both online and off, though she doesn't usually get the chance to display her generosity in real life. Gloria is the veteran player that'll take newbies under her wing, Gloria is the person that'll nurse a kitten back to health and then take it to the shelter to be rehomed, and Gloria is the person that pick up a necklace and run after a woman who dropped it, momentarily forgetting all of her fear in the genuine desire to help others.

It was in the middle of such an event that Gloria found herself suddenly transported to a fantasy world, where she meets a strange assortment of very pretty, very strange, and very gay women that begin to consume her life.
