Cologne (Köln in German, Kölle in Kolsch), (ケルン, Kerun) is a fan-made character of the series Hetalia. He represents Cologne, a city in Germany, in North Rhine-Westphalia. His human name is Eugen Cornelius Braun.

Appearance

Eugen is a man in his thirties. He's around 170cm (5"7') high. He has couple of scars on his body (but the creator is too lazy to decide where and why, and finally draw it). His hair is brown and shoulder-length with few strands of white hair, which are died blond. It's either loose or tied in a ponytail. His eyes are hazel, a mix of green and brown. He has round glasses with black frame and is rarely seen without his cross necklace.

personality

Cologne's personality has undergone some changes over the centuries. In the past, he used to be a fighter, serious, strict, quiet, very stubborn, self-centered and envious. Nowdays (21st century), he's nearly the opposite to what he used to be like. He's rather optimistic and hopeful. He is distinguished by liberality - he's always open to new ideas and tolerant. He is the kind of person who would most likely get along with anyone, regardless of age. He's laid back. The number of times he becomes nervous is enviable as it rarely happens. He's been alive for a long time, he has seen and heard a lot. Wisdom is usually expected of such people, and this is not a misconception about him as he offers good advice when someone needs it.

During official situations, i.e. at work, he remains serious and mannered, focused on the task he has to do. In private however, he's playful and jovial. He likes to compete with others and loves partying. He doesn't mind pranks and has a huge sense of humor, (but at the same time he has boundaries set). He is very proud of who he is and still stubborn when it comes to pretending to hold a grudge.

• His first name was inspired by Eugen Langen - German entrepreneur, engineer and inventor, his middle name by Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim - German polymath, physician, legal scholar, soldier, theologian, and occult writer, while his surname by Georg Braun - German topo-geographer
• He's most probably gay, but there were also plans to make him just an openly official straight ally. He often says he's not interested in relationships, which means he might potentially be on aromantic (or/and asexual) spectrum.
