Scarlet Sonata dreamed of being a singer since she was just a little fillie. Her mother, Violet Vibrato, had noticed her daughter's increasing infatuation, and took it upon herself to teach Scarlet how to sing properly. Imagine her mama's surprise when she found out her little girl had a beautiful but unique voice. A voice fit for the opera.

After spending many years perfecting her abilities, Scarlet finally went to Manehatten to audition for Brindleway. It was here she caught the attention of the theater troupe's leading diva , Märchen Nacht.

Märchen called upon the young pony, and had her spend the night with her... and it was here that Scarlet became a vampire. Having been seduced, Märchen took it upon herself to help finish grooming Scarlet to become the true Prima Donna she was meant to be.
