Loyal - Impassive - Cunning - Ruthless
A stern and unreadable woman, Weronika strikes a forceful presence that tends to intimidate those who don't know her well. She is, first and foremost, a slave to her own ambition. If she commits to a task, she will see it through regardless of the cost, and as such has developed a reputation as someone who is equal parts callous and reliable. Weronika is not uncaring, however. She tends to take a responsible, almost parental role in friendships and sees those close to her as her wards.
Weronika's greatest weakness is her need to overanalyze. While formidable when she is able to strategize, she lacks the same decisiveness when put in unpredictable situations. She works best with others despite her aloof nature, requiring an impulsive (sometimes flippant) presence to balance her out.
FORM PMR-1014C: History known of dittech holder.
Weronika was a born and bred fighter. In her youth, she was left in the daycare only for her trainer to retrieve her when she was of battling age. It was clear from the start that failure was not to be tolerated. While the other Pokémon on her team were older, faster, and stronger, she was meant to be their protector: a defensive bastion for an otherwise aggressive composition. The pressure was high, but her standards were equally so. She wore herself thin training late through the night and into the morning. Her trainer did not frequently appreciate her efforts, but the occasional praise and thrill of seeing her opponents fall was enough to keep her going.
They took on the Kalosian gym challenge. It was difficult, and Weronika suffered greatly for it. If a teammate could not take the hit, she would. She had to. Time saw her perception began to warp. Through dominating opponents in combat, she could prove herself a valuable team member. Maybe, just maybe, her trainer wouldn't toss her aside.
Although she tried, Weronika was not invincible. There were times that she fell or failed to deliver the decisive blow. The further her team went in the gym challenge, the more battered she became. There was no time for mercy, so she was given no quarter. The lack of rest and occasional punishment for failing to perform made her grow weaker and weaker. Eventually, she could continue no longer.
Her trainer saw her pitiful state and promptly replaced her with a Ferrothorn.
An anonymous hack of her trainer's PC set Weronika, along with several other abandoned team members, free. Some had been there for weeks. Others, months or years. They had no direction- save for Weronika, who made it her life's mission to prove her worth through excellence. Not to others, but to herself.
She took up pit fighting. With her toxins and stalling tactics, she battled with relentless brutality. Along the way, Weronika met Carlisle. The two somehow managed to build a friendship based upon shared disdain of others, but it works! Sometimes.
She was able to leverage some of her connections made as a pit fighter to obtain an Apellon-registered dittech. The instant she was offered an administrative position at Brimstone, she took it.
Currently, Weronika works as Lyle's assistant and co-owner of Brimstone. She excels at managerial tasks and, though she'd never admit it, has found a home of sorts among the people there. They're an odd bunch, but they're hers.
She can be found babysitting Guppy, preventing him from bringing about his untimely demise, setting Brimstone ablaze, or both.
A salt-stained breeze surrounds her, tousling already unkempt hair into a wild tangle. Upon the cresting waves, sunlight dances, as fleeting as the ocean's ebb and flow.
She travels the world and allows whimsy to dictate her ventures. Without a home to return to - without a duty bound - she is finally free.
