Profile

While investigating the suspicious deaths of his parents, Tirrus 1) realised that they had been part of a rather nasty cult, and 2) accidentally invited the god of their cult to live inside his body. While some people might take exception to this turn of events, Tirrus quickly recognised the potential gains, and he ended up blackmailing the trapped god into assisting with his investigation.

Sometimes this arrangement is unbelievably useful, and other times it's nothing but a costly power struggle. He has to keep the god fed, so to avoid wasting away himself, he sacrifices to it with either animals or with guys and monsters trying to kill him (and he's an adventurer on the Sword Coast, so there's no shortage of guys and monsters trying to kill him).

His day job is as a glassblower in the city of Baldur's Gate. He has a husband who's a sweetheart, but, uh, thanks to the 'obsessed with hunting down answers and also possessed' phase, they're not talking.

Tirrus is functionally a low-level hexblade warlock. He can summon a weapon that appears to be made of obsidian glass; it usually takes the form of a bigass sword, and tends towards off-puttingly organic shapes. He had no god damn idea how to wield a sword before this. To be honest, that's probably something he should be more concerned about.

The possession has left him with an unnatural hole through his left hand, filled with an orb made of the same obsidian as his sword; he usually keeps this covered with a glove or cloth wrap, and the obsidian acts as his arcane focus. He has also become left-handed. Casting spells often results in his left eye becoming bloodshot. Sometimes in his dreams he is trapped in the Shadowfell, and spends the night trying desperately to escape.

For an easy shorthand: his vibes are essentially "Call of Cthulhu investigator tripped and fell into Dungeons & Dragons and is going to push his luck until it breaks".
