Twin brother | Rival

If the player chooses to play as Willow, Ellis will automatically become her rival. He will choose the starter that has the weak type to hers and will regularly challenge her to friendly Pokémon battles during their adventure.

Ellis and Willow are shown to be quite close. Even if they consider themselves rivals, they are very supportive of one another and will not hesitate to offer their help if one of them happens to be in trouble. As the two of them are twins, they seem to have quite a strong connection. They often complete each other's sentences and manage to communicate without even speaking on some occasions. They also worry a lot about each other’s safety, as shown at the beginning of their journey where they were kind of reluctant to split.

Good acquaintance

Up to the player

Depending on the game and the player’s choices, Willow and Oleander’s relationship may vary.

If the player plays as Willow in Pokémon Fragrance, her and Oleander are automatically enemies, as he is part of Team Toxin. He will often be in her way, trying to stop her from messing up his plans with Pokémon battles. However, if the right answers are chosen during dialogues with him, Willow can make Oleander realize the wrongdoings of his team, thus making him side with her and becoming his friend.

If the player plays as Oleander in Pokémon Venom, the same logic applies. The player can either follow Larks’ plans blindly and be a bad guy until the end, or make Oleander switch to the good side by making him talk with the Fragrance protagonists.

Once they become friends, their relationship is, however, kind of awkward. Oleander clearly seems to feel guilty about everything he has done and doesn’t think he is worthy of Willow’s friendship and forgiveness. She nonetheless doesn’t give up on trying to make him feel better.
