Physical Description 

                    General Physical Condition             

Generally physically fit, but with a  history of multiple cases of head trauma and concussions which have  affected his cognitive and trouble solving abilities.

                    Body Features             

He has short 2 inch horns, the left horn has signs of a previous crack and he has a scar on his left side from being stabbed.

                    Facial Features             

He has dark skin on the edges of his eyes, which appears to be somewhat like eye shadow.

                    Identifying Characteristics             

He is a goat child, with black and  white fluffy legs, goat like ears and alpine goat horns. He's also a  jerk, so aside from his appearance he's not hard to pick out from a  crowd.

                    Apparel & Accessories             

He often wears a simple tunic, or  other conservative clothes that is suitable for wherever he is. When  acting as a Stonerat he wore human clothes, including oversized pants  and shoes which flopped about, this was to hide his identity as one of  the few fauns on isle.

Mental characteristics

                    Personal history             

Born in a small faun rural hamlet in Nymyr, hidden in the forests on Luru 21, 194 AE as the middle child of five, named Tozi.  He had two older brothers and two younger sisters, and was primarily raised by his older brothers while his parents were off working subsistence farming and gathering. His brothers ended up getting into some trouble, joining a group of faun highwaymen to rob travelers. Dead was roped into the group to help his brothers at the age of 11 and found quite a bit of wealth with the dishonest work. 

His parents never seemed wise to their son's activities, until Tozi was captured in a botched robbery and kept for nearly a year in an Akothian military prison. Being stuck there and a social person, he befriended and made several juvenile casual relationships with other prisoners, one partner was male and the rest were female, his shortest ‘relationship’ being with the first at barely over a month with a Talarn boy named Dorji Gali,  before he’d moved on to his longest, nearly three month relationship with Akanyt, a Tamaranth girl.

That relationship ended when Akanyt was executed for being a Tamanarth druid, and several months later Tozi tried another relationship with a Thiesian human girl named Gresa Sciosa. They were together for five weeks before Tozi started pursuing another girl named Signe Salmidotr, a Cresalt human whom he dated for a few weeks before dumping Gresa. He then stayed with Signe for two months and two weeks before he was placed on a ship to be sent to Kaeliso. He expected to be sold as a slave, but the ship encountered a storm off the coast of Umbril and the faun ended up washing up on the shore of a pirate controlled island in the region. 

The pirates ended up trading the strange faun off to the Vulpos who in turn sold the kid to the Stonerats. At this point he began to call himself Salt, referring to his shipwrecked status. There he was given to the Stonerat boss known as Red or Sparrow, as a servant. He later was inducted into the group as a simple pickpocket and was taught some basic skills in thievery and stealth. A year later, at 14, he found out he had the potential for magic but was a poor practitioner at it and decided it was better to continue with skills he was good at. He kept at his job as a Stonerat, disguising himself with human clothing to hide his faun origins and to keep from being identified. A year later he worked himself to a position as a marked mask, working under Red for burglary and scouting. 

At 15, while traveling with a group of Rats for a job, the group was discovered and followed to the East Gate. They almost successfully escaped until Holly and Zaraith bump into a few of the members. Zaraith bumps into Salt near him once more to be stabbed. He then attacked with blood tendrils and Salt fled, apparently to catch up to the group. Merry seems to hear where Salt went, but he never disclosed his location, however Holly ran into them again. 

Salt refused to answer any questions and fled into the woods and up a tree, taunting Kerjal and being followed up the tree by the half elf. Merry approached from the opposite side, and when Salt  was about to exit the tree, Kerjal stepped onto the same branch, breaking it and landing on the stonerat. They end up removing his rat mask, Merry checking it for Sparrow's mark.  The group decided to leave the kid  in the forest after they talked Kerjal out of arresting him. Merry decides to turn back to talk to the boy, deciding after a time to take the kid to his home. He got Zaraith to heal the boy's broken leg, and then Merry and Dead discussed his involvement and names. Salt then adopted the name Dead as he expected to be killed by the Stonerats for failing the job and almost getting the group caught.

Dead ended up being detained in the stonerat prisons, beaten and interrogated, left tied upside down via chains by Jaxem and Devin. When the group came to rescue Merry from the rats, they took him with them and dropped him off at the hospital. There Merry claimed that Dead was being framed as a Stonerat and stated his name was Thomas Red. The hospital released him into Merry’s care, much to the faun’s dismay. There he followed Merry home and met his adopted son, Chance. 

Dead made friends with the younger faun and decided to bum around Merry’s place while Red sorted out dealing with Devin and Jaxem. Later on, Dead and Merry speak about the rats and the guild’s opinions on his boss, Red. He then gave Merry a balled up drawing of an angry goat, as well as a favor coin from Red.

At 16 he was promoted as a Red Mask stonerat, in charge of guarding Red while in the drainage room, however, at this time, Devin was seeking to take control of the Stonerats, turning members of other captain’s crews into vampires and brainwashing them to attack the others. Devin broke into the drainage room and attempted to assassinate Red, but Dead blocked the attack, taking a dagger deep into his side and severe head trauma. His distraction allowed Red to prepare a spell and fend off Devin, who ended up fleeing to the mansion. 

Leaf had arrived with Zaraith after their group dispatched the vampires in the Cistern, and Zaraith treated the stab wound. Leaf then brought Dead to the hospital to get medicine and medical treatment, and later to Llbreyen’s Grotto since he wasn’t improving much. He ended up healing from the trauma but had lasting effects which negatively impacted his ability to concentrate and plague him with severe headaches. His problem solving abilities decreased significantly and his mood became primarily negative due to constant pain. 

At 17 he started to live at Red’s house, mostly to watch Chance and stay around to protect her. He didn’t do many outside jobs for the Stonerats at this point, and any criminal acts he did commit were of his own volition. Leaf ended up getting him a flock of chickens and he named his favorite hen, Eloise. 

When the tornado hit the farming district, Dead went about looting the buildings left unattended, including the Bear Bee & Bee, Ovatas' house for valuables and weapons, and Tuve’s house. He stole several coins, symbols, ruby tulips and other things he thought would improve Red’s opinion of him. The faun had significant concerns that she intended to remove him from the StoneRats and hoped the items would gian him favor.

Dead  admits to Leaf that he feels he’s useless and also that he cannot read and things move around, hinting that he’s dyslexic and that the previous concussion was a factor. Leaf agreed to teach him to read books in private so he didn’t feel stupid learning the same things Chance, a young faun, was learning. 

Dead heads to the vampire den in the sewers about a month later speaking with some other Rats about a job. This is once again the faun going on his own to try and amend what he felt was the fault of his, and finds out that Leaf was roaming around looking for things. He leaves the lower area of the den, initially agitated and distrustful of Leaf, questioning why he was snooping around. 

Leaf then informs him about the shadow being, and they go to his house to discuss getting the guard roster. Leaf intended to rule out who was or wasn't a suspect, and after getting the folder of info from Joryn, he made a list and an image based code that Dead could use to describe the Shadow possessed guard. They split up to scout, and end up meeting up again at the fountain in town. The shadow attempts to switch to another person, but Dead tackles them to the ground.

Aither and Caelum show up to see two men struggling. Dead knocks the one man out after that man bites him, and Aither then attempts several times to attack Dead. He proves unsuccessful as Dead was using his invisibility cloak. 

Dead ends up cornered by two Royal Guards, Nen and Tibault, that Caelum calls to help. He then reveals himself from his invisibility, still anonymous as a StoneRat, and is handcuffed and thrown to the ground.  Right before they unmask him, Leaf kicks Aither and uses some explosive object to help, blasting everyone away, nearly killing Aither, injuring Caelum, and escaping with Dead.

Dead ends up with injuries from the explosion and forgets to remove his StoneRat gear before showing up at a certain residence. When Dead goes to treat his injuries, Leaf relays what he knows about the events to his contact, who is  irate with Dead for showing up like he did. While Leaf and Red argue and eventually discuss what to do, Dead flees into the basement of the residence to be miserable. Red once again hinted that Dead wasn’t cut out to be a Stonerat, and a few months later informed him to no longer travel to the sewers, and to turn in his gear. 

He did so, but then went into the forests for a while, unfortunately he couldn’t go to the grotto to calm down, as the shrine was not yet repaired, so instead he wandered around for a few days before returning the house. Red told him to come with her to the hospital and she had him prescribed glasses, which made him even more depressed about both his appearance and situation. For the most part he now sits in the field with the chickens until it’s dark.

He's dubious on being moral, had no  trouble beating up children and old ladies for what he wants. Generally  very greedy, especially with shiny gold objects.
