Salvia

• She can read minds, but its not something that happens constantly- she has to put deep concentration into the act and uses it to help others through difficult emotions. She can sense emotions without effort- just not specific memories or 'mental words' without concentration

Salvia is a mysterious vaporeon with a deep empathy and understanding for others and their struggles. She's good at reading a room and always seems to know what to say towards those around her. She's always eager to listen and share her thoughts on troubles, and those who are upset or bothered will have a safe place with her to discuss their emotions. She never shares these interactions, as she wants to keep her reputation as someone reliable.

She selflessly helps others on the surface, though it does have ulterior motive. She's greatly impacted by emotions, and negative emotions especially deeply drain on her and her wellbeing. As a result, she goes out of her way to use her abilities to interact with other's emotions to try to help them resolve them.  While her good deeds do help people, her main goal first and foremost is coping with the overwhelming weight of the expressions of so many others around her.

Though she puts on a chipper face and most wouldn't guess her struggles in the matter, if isolated and she feels safe enough to let down her own guard, she is very solemn and weary of the world around her. If she could, she'd prefer to isolate herself from the emotions of others entirely and find somewhere safe to flee to avoid having to feel so many other people's strife alongside her own worries and fears. 

Given that this isn't an option, she succumbs to her role of trying to soothe their wants and worries instead.

Salvia was born on the sky island, and has lived there here entire life. Following in her family's footsteps, she chose to evolve into a vaporeon, spending most of her time fetching herbs and medicines from the deep waters of the sapphire lake to bring to the city above for various uses. While this proved her worth among the pokemon of the city on a purely commercial level, as she grew older and her ghost-type abilities to access emotions grew more powerful, so too did her uses. She became something of a therapist (For lack of a better word/alternative in such a society); helping others through their troubles and earning a reputation as someone trustworthy with which to share your woes- to her hidden disdain for such a position that would expose her to such pain of others, no matter how relieved she'd become to ease that burden.
