Rhett Tharamir

Personality: Impulsive, hot-headed, ambitious, cynical, cycles quickly between ready to give up and stubbornly pressing on
Likes: Beer (he was raised by dwarves after all!), solving problems, complaining about said problems
Dislikes: Being told what to do, not knowing things, monotony, not being physically active for too long

Rhett Tharamir was born with a natural gift for necromancy, a form of magic nearly on the verge of extinction in this world. When he came of age he left the only home he'd ever known, the dwarven city his mother was born and raised in, to hone his magical skills at a wizard's college. He ruined his own plans, however, by getting kicked out for  picking fights with his teachers. One day, after a long night of  drinking away his frustrations, he got in a barfight with another magic user. When he threw a necrotic blast at her, she deflected it, and he caught it right in the face. While the loss of the skin and muscles on  the lower half of his face has not stopped him from being able to eat, speak, or breathe, it has still been a great source of frustration for Rhett, especially due to the curse's apparent irreversibility.
After being kicked out of wizard school, Rhett picked up his mother's own vocation of mercenary work. He travels the land using his half-honed magic skills to make money and search far and wide for someone or something that could reverse his unfortunate cosmetic ailment.

(Fun fact, this is my oldest still-used character. I made him when I was TWELVE.)
