About
Spark is a Slugcat created by an Iterator as part of an experiment, after escaping his creator he now wanders the world in search of others like him. He possesses a mark of communication, can jump like a leap lizard, zap like a centipede, and glow like a lantern mouse. While traversing the harsh landscape might not be as hard for him, finding those who will accept him might be.
Spark is very timid/shy around other intelligent creatures. When interacting with individuals he doesn't know well or doesn't feel safe around he fidgets with his paws, stutters, and speaks slower. Around those he feels safe with his speech is more complete and quick. Farmiliarity helps spark feel safe, feeling safe around lantern mice and cyan lizards as he has dna of both and has had good experiences with them. Slugcats he is more neutral towards thanks to some bad experiences early on. If someone is feeling bad Spark will want to try to help, but doubts himself a lot and if he thinks he's made a mistake in trying to make them feel better he will shut down or fall apart.

High Up and Open Places They are claustrophobic and were raised underground, they hate caves even open ones and like to be out where they can see the sky, and where there's room to run.
Lizards, Particularly Cyan They feel a certain kinship with these creatures due to the shared dna. Cyan lizards tend to be friendly towards him.
Lantern Mice They feel a certain kinship with these creatures due to the shared dna. He can relate to their timidness.
Music Music helps keep Spark calm, he loves listening to it.
Dislikes
Insects Developed both Claustrophobia and Insectophobia after certain experiments with his creator.

Large Groups of People List something they don't like then give a small description about it.
Loud Noises Loud and sudden noises really spook zem.
- Spark finds a lot of comfort in familiar things, things like zem or that ze can relate to.
- Zer tail leaks cyan lizard gas when nervous.
- Spark likes drawing and playing music but can't handle an audience.
- When Spark is scared it takes him a while to calm down, usually he will try to go somewhere quiet and safe or with someone he trusts until he calms down.
- Spark was my first ever Rain World OC and he is still my little scrunklo.

Here's some design fun trivia! The little nubs that stick off his body in the sprite are supposed to be the spines on his back but when my friend drew it they mistook them for hands and I decided I liked yellow hands as part of his design so they stuck!

Creation
Spark was created in a lab by an iterator named Black Rain, Endless Night, she combined dna from lizards, centipedes, and lantern mice into the base of a slugcat. He was also born with a mark of communication. His name at birth given by her was 892, the number of experiment he was. At first she cared for him, treating him as her child. But before long she began her experiments. Spark would be sent underground to retrieve things only to be attacked by previous experiments, he would wake up in rooms of total darkness, and the sounds of things scittering across the walls, unlike some of her other experiments he survived through everything, handling every obstacle that was thrown at him. He feared falling asleep and the smallest sounds of the other creatures that lurked within the can terrified him.
After a while of this he realized she had been putting him into these situations and began to try to make his escape. Despite her efforts the little slugcat was too quick and too smart, allowing him to escape to the outside world, with a bit of assistance from another slugcat experiment named The Gladiator, who remained with Black Rain by their own choice.
Searching For a Home
Spark's first few cycles of freedom were pleasant, he learned of the harsh rain and shelters all over the world, and the few creatures he saw were either easily avoided or weren't interested in him. However he began to feel lonely.
he set out to find other slugcats or other enlightened creatures. In his travels he at one point stays with a pack of lizards, and with some lantern mice, occasionally he finds a slugcat or two but they're always scared off, and the few tribes he finds don't let him in. While he likes the lizards and mice he feels he doesn't quite fit in, so eventually, he leaves and keeps searching for anyone to keep him from feeling so alone.

Relationships
Black Rain, Endless Night
Spark holds a certain resentment for his creator, Black Rain. It's thanks to her he's afraid of small spaces and even the most harmless insects in the harsh environment of Rain World. It's also because of her that spark scares away other slugcats. His lizard markings make him seem dangerous to them. He's also afraid at first to interact with other iterators, even those that may be able to help him.
Pepper
Pepper is Spark's best friend and eventually adoptive sibling. (I'll add more once me and Sketch actually write their story lmao)
Burning Horizons
Horizons saved Spark from a permanent death and despite Spark being scared at first BH became one of people ze trusted the most. Spark assists BH with various things in their can, maintinence and such, being especially useful due to their extreme resistance to electrification. Ze were also her only company for a while.
