🍋 Bitterbite 🍋

Extremely loyal, only allows one person to ride her and bucks anyone else off. Rather petty and food driven, likes to be dramatic. She is reserved around most dragons except her family and best friend, but will be playful at times. Loves to go flying as often as possible, adventurous at heart. Wary of strangers yet curious. Eats large amounts of meat, and will steal it from unattentive vikings.

On an island far to the north, dragons are hunted as trophies instead of in defense. There is a flock of Night Furies that inhabit the general area, one family being Bitterbites'. Her mother was wounded in a hunt before Bitters was born and can no longer fly, so the family cannot leave the island. Bitterbite grows up learning to steal food and avoid people, not being allowed to fly without supervision either. One day a wrecked ship drifts onto the shore near the family's den, and Bitters is too curious. She meets a confused human girl, who throws fish and fruit at Bitterbite in fear. Of course they become friends and meet in secret for many years.

A long time later the two, both around 22y/o, finally get caught by the human girl's friend. They have to escape the villagers together, abandonning both their families. The human's friend goes in search after them, eventually catching up and having to learn about dragons (and taming one of his own). The group travels to different islands while trying to decide what to do. Another human, who is friends with a Stormcutter, joins them on the journey as well. Someday they have to go back and face the consequenses, both for themselves and those who kill dragons for sport.
