The Weapon
Bumblebee was not born a shapeshifter.
He was born human.
His birth name was Benjamin Carter Hale, the son of two military researchers: Dr. Adrian Hale and Dr. Marissa Hale, both genetic specialists working within a classified branch of the United States military known as F.A.N.G. — the Fully Adaptive Neomorphic Group. F.A.N.G. was not a typical military unit. It was a secret program dedicated to the development of adaptive biological soldiers—living weapons capable of surviving environments and missions where ordinary troops could not.
Benjamin and several other children were raised inside the program from birth, monitored constantly as their bodies were altered through experimental gene therapy and adaptive mutation treatments. Over time, Benjamin’s physiology began to change. His body developed the ability to shift between biological forms, mimicking animal structures and abilities through rapid cellular restructuring. The program designated him FANG-II CHM-07B // Asset Bumblebee.
He was trained as a soldier before he was ever allowed to be a child. Among the soldiers, the name “Bumblebee” stuck. The codename originally came from a soldier joking that the young shapeshifter reminded him of the loyal Transformer character—small, underestimated, but impossibly resilient.

For Bee and his companions, it was the closest thing they had ever experienced to tranquility.
But peace came with its own kind of discomfort.
The Sunseekers were content with stillness. Bee’s pack had been raised in motion, trained for action, and wired for survival. As months passed, the quiet life began to feel less like freedom and more like stagnation.
Eventually, the pack moved on.
Their restless spirits carried them inland toward a place that pulsed with far more familiar energy: Evolution City.
The City of Strays
Evolution was loud, unpredictable, and alive in a way Bee immediately understood.
The city’s crowded streets and constant movement reminded him of the chaos of deployment zones, but without the rules of war. It was here that Bee met Juju Sparta, a young man whose confidence and charisma made him stand out in a city full of personalities.
Juju treated Bee differently from most humans. He spoke to him, argued with him, and trusted him as if Bee were another person rather than an animal. Eventually Bee began spending more and more time inside Juju’s home.
It became the first place Bee had ever truly experienced life as a house dog.

Even though most of his pack continued living outside, Bee found himself growing attached to that life.
Then the storm came.
A massive tropical superstorm tore through Evolution’s coastline, bringing catastrophic flooding and winds that shredded entire districts of the city. Streets disappeared beneath rising water, buildings collapsed, and thousands were displaced overnight. In the chaos, Bee was swept away with the floodwaters and carried far out along the coast.
When he finally washed ashore, the skyline waiting for him was not Evolution.
It was Luxe, LA.
Luxe, LA
Two wealthy brothers discovered Bee wandering along the beach and brought him into their home.
At first they treated him like an unusual curiosity—a clever dog with strange habits—but Bee quickly adapted to the glamorous, chaotic life of Luxe. The city adored spectacle, and Bee unintentionally became part of it. Stories about the impossibly intelligent dog spread through neighborhoods, bars, and online forums.
Eventually Bee left the brothers’ household and settled with another family in the city.
Erica Holystone, a hardworking mother raising her children, welcomed him without hesitation. Around the same time she began dating Shawn De LaCruz, a local police officer who served as a K-9 handler. Bee and Shawn quickly formed a partnership, working together with the department’s K-9 unit. Bee helped with search operations, patrol work, and the occasional rescue mission.
Despite the success, Luxe slowly began to feel overwhelming.
The fame, the crowds, the constant attention—Bee had spent his life surrounded by chaos. When Erica and Shawn decided to move to the quieter town of Cedarbrook, Massachusetts, Bee followed willingly.
He thought a slower life might finally suit him.
Cedarbrook, MA
Cedarbrook was peaceful in a way Bee had never known.
Tree-lined neighborhoods replaced city streets. The nights were quiet. The air smelled of pine instead of exhaust. Bee spent his days exploring forests, watching over the children, and enjoying a life that felt almost normal.
For a while, he was happy.
But as time passed, Bee began reconnecting with members of his old pack who had resurfaced in the surrounding wilderness. The call of that bond proved stronger than suburban comfort. He spent more and more time roaming the woods, returning home less frequently.
Then everything changed.
Erica and Shawn separated, their relationship collapsing under the strain of relocation and work. In the aftermath, both eventually left Cedarbrook.
Bee was left behind in the empty space they had once filled.
Colorado
Bee reunited with his pack and returned to a wandering life.
For a time they traveled west, eventually settling near a small Colorado town where locals began referring to Bee as “Buddy.” People noticed the strange dog who seemed to understand conversations, waited at crosswalks, and occasionally escorted lost hikers back to town.
One man in particular took a liking to him: Hector Alvarez.
Hector offered Bee a warm place to stay and treated him with quiet kindness, never asking too many questions about the unusual dog who appeared to understand every word he spoke.
For a short while, Bee considered staying.
But the road eventually called him back.
CyberLife
Years later Bee reunited with Juju Sparta once again, this time in a neon-lit metropolis known as CyberLife. Towering skyscrapers, glowing billboards, and endless nightlife defined the city. Beneath an abandoned diner near the junkyards, Bee and his pack created a hidden den among the strays of the city.
During this time Bee formed a bond with another member of the pack, Nala, and together they had two pups: Scout and Honey.
For a while, life seemed stable.
Then Juju betrayed him.
Unknown to Bee, Juju had been contacted by remnants of the old F.A.N.G. program, which had never stopped searching for their escaped asset. Whether out of pressure, fear, or ambition, Juju gave them Bee’s location.
The military captured Bee and several members of his pack and transported them off-world to a classified orbital facility. For months they were studied, restrained, and forced back into the role of experimental subjects.
But Bee had escaped once before.
And he escaped again.
After months in captivity, he and the remaining members of his pack managed to break free and commandeer a return vessel, crashing back onto Earth near a sprawling coastal metropolis known as Palmir City.
The Noriega Estate
Palmir City was controlled in many ways by one of its most powerful families: the Noriegas.
Two members of that family, Rell Noriega and Galore Noriega, already knew who Bee was—and what had happened to him. The Noriegas shared distant ties to Juju’s family, and when they learned of the betrayal, they offered Bee sanctuary.
The Noriega household was massive, filled with relatives, allies, and constant activity. It was a powerful family operating at the center of the city’s politics and underground economy alike.
Bee accepted their protection.
While living under their roof, Bee began building something of his own: Feral Woodlands, a hidden sanctuary deep in the surrounding wilderness where his pack and other displaced animals could live safely away from the chaos of human cities.
For the first time, Bee wasn’t just surviving.
He was building a home.
Until fire destroyed it.
Between the Trees
After the fire, Bee and his pack relocated to an abandoned junkyard that sat between forest and civilization—a strange middle ground where neither world truly claimed them.
Around the same time, the Noriega family fractured. Rell became consumed by the demands of business and power. Galore chased a rising career in entertainment and fame. The household that once felt full of life slowly grew distant.
Bee tried to remain part of their lives.
But eventually, he realized the world was pulling them in different directions.
The pack began traveling again, drifting from city to city.
Harmony Hills
Eventually their wandering brought them to Harmony Hills.
One afternoon, while searching for food near a neighborhood park, Bee was discovered by a group of excited children who immediately decided he belonged to them. They brought him home, introduced him to their family, and proudly declared him their dog.
For the first time in a long time, Bee allowed himself to stay.
Slowly, members of his pack began settling nearby as well.
