He can be passionate and determined and will do anything for those he cares about, he has a heart of gold and is courageous when it counts the most. Though he's overall weak and frail physically compared to the magical creatures he lives around, he is intelligent, a quick thinker and a good problem solver.

Daelan was born to a farming family and would have led a normal life being a farm hand, however the exact moment he was born a powerful wizard named Ozric cast a spell to elongate his life and the spell backfired, attaching his spirit to the young boy instead. Growing up with Ozric's soul attached to him was difficult at best, they struggled to get along during his childhood, but as Daelan grew older he began to understand that he had to leave- to find out more about what happened with Ozric and learn how to separate them so that Ozric could have his life back.

Ozric is a spirit that is directly attached to Daelan's and cannot move far from him without both of them feeling pain. Though he doesn't have a physical form he is able to effect the physical world in small ways, like knocking things over and moving objects. He communicates telepathically with Daelan and can read the boys thoughts and emotions. In general, Ozric is kind, caring, protective and almost fatherly towards Daelan, having become fond of him over the years, however he can become irritated and in turn destructive if things don't go his way or if Daelan refuses to listen to him. He can be a bit selfish, but Daelan has been a good influence on him over the years, he's extremely intelligent, especially about magic and history and acts as a guide for Daelan whenever possible, offering advice and suggestions.

Maybe vine like markings like on this? https://i.imgur.com/j6bN0vP.png possibly instead of the light markings the reference has. The design can otherwise be adjusted by artists choice.
