Profile

Above all, Dante wants to keep going. Not for his own sake. Not because staying alive is important to him. His perseverance is solely out of a responsibility to others, and the tasks his position commands of him are not things he's willing to push onto his crew, no matter how badly he may need to do that.

As the leader of the USM-Atlas, the responsibility of piloting the mech falls to him. Due to both experience and a natural affinity for synchronizing with the mech, he is its best pilot among the crew by far. Prior to the events that scarred his face, this was something that he took pride in, and his terse but friendly attitude meant that he was on good terms with his crew, and they became friends over their time together. Nobody would say that life was going swimmingly for him, but he was managing well enough, and the USM-Atlas was known as a formidable mech team. This recognition led to Dante's promotion to commander of a mech squadron.

Dante tries to forget the events that scarred him, but his conscience won't let him. It involves the deaths of every other mech team in his squadron as well as a fundamental alteration of the world itself, and he feels responsible for it. Dante was never a man of many words before, but after these events, he shut himself away from everyone and found himself unable to do anything but pilot the ship. That said, Dante's ability to pilot is becoming more and more affected by the wear of the equipment he's using. The nervewires used to synchronize with the mech have begun to break down in ways that trigger and amplify Dante's flashbacks, which he attempts to hide. Dante is aware that synchronization with these faulty nervewires is dangerous, but he feels like he's constantly failing to do everything else required of him, and that by putting his health on the line for his friends and piloting this mech, he's still able to do one thing right.

He clings to that one thing, tightly.
