About
Race explanation:
Stellae (singular: Stella) - are a race made by me that exist in the world of Verratum. They are the guarding lights and Apostles of Chaos (god of Verratum). They live high up in the sky guarding Solaris (place where Chaos rests) watching over Varratum. Before falling they have blue skin and fur, dark blue shiny wings and their gold accessories glow. After falling their skin and fur turns into beige color, they lose their wings and their gold stops glowing. They also can not use Chaos magic anymore.
Shimaru is a fallen Stella who before the fall was called Nebula and was in charge of watching over the steppe region. They had fallen along with half of the other Stellae. After falling she became an assistant to The Fallen, she is helping him with his inventions trying to find a place for herself and explore her interests.
Author's notes
This is my main persona. They have a role in the world of Verratum but it isn’t major at all. To be honest they are pretty boring characters. Don’t expect much. They won’t appear much in the story, maybe even only when the Fallen mentioned them.
But they have a special place in my heart as my persona that was with me through many, many years. And that’s why I decided they should be the first character whose page I make and finish.
Design
Notes
- Height - all Stellae are 172,1 cm tall (except Fatum and The Fallen).
- Weight - all fallen Stellae weight 22,1 kg (except The Fallen).
- Stellae were made for flight so their weight is low, the ones who didn't fall weight 5,1 kg (except Fatum).
- Birthday - in other words 1st day of the Month of Change.
- Age - 686 Verratum years are 940 Earth years.
Personality
Shimaru is mainly quiet, they don’t talk much and their presence is barely noticeable if they don’t want you to notice them. They are a huge introvert that could spend days in a locked room without any interaction. If a stranger tries to interact with Shimaru, they are shy and cold. But when they interact with a friend they talk a lot, are easily amused and very open.
They are scared to act without thinking first and cringe when someone acts irrationally. To be honest they prefer to not act at all and just watch events unfold on their own. Even with that in mind they can step up whenever it is necessary, such as on the day of the Purge - they were one of the first Stellae that started the rebellion.

Summary
Stelllae - how mighty fall
In the beginning, there was nothing, the overwhelming emptiness. At some point from this nil emerged Chaos, the first consciousness. The primordial being. It was the one who created Verratum and gave life to every creature that roams this land.
The first being Chaos created after making the soil for creatures to stand on was a little light that took the shape much similar to Chaos. He became later known as Chaos right hand - Fatum. Many more lights were created after him. Among others there were four Stellae that were assigned to watch over Verratum: Nebula who was assigned to the steppe region, Ustrina assigned to the desert region, Edurus assigned to the mountain region and Anmis assigned to the forest region.
However after creating everything Chaos fell into slumber that lasts to present days and Stellae were left with order to watch everything from the sky. Fatumn was the only one that remained able to receive Chaos orders. Years passed. No new words came from the god. Stellae still supervised Verratum.
But one of them was tired of nothing changing.
A month after creating Fatum the second light was created. That Stella was Poena - Chaos left hand. He was the shadow that was supposed to only intervene in emergency situations. He was the final weapon, the best magic handler, the Executor. And he was tired of remaining still in the sky only watching other races.
Poena began talking with other Stellae. He manipulated some and he convinced others and when the day of action began almost half of Stellae sided with him. That day later came to be known as the Purge.
Stellae that sided with Poena attacked others trying to take control of the sky. However only minutes after it began Fatum’s light shone brightly across the battlefield.
“Chaos has spoken, down with the traitors”
As those words came out of its mouth Fatumn’s spear cut Poena faster than could be noticed. Light disappeared from him and he lost his wings, no longer being able to float in the sky he was falling. The battlefield went silent as others
Before the fall
Nebula was the most boring Stellae out of the great four and even more unimpressive than the two first stars. She almost never talked to others, just kept quiet and listened in. Her personality suited the terrain she was given - a steppe region that lacked many things. The nature there was negligible and not many species lived there.
So she spent her days in an unassuming way, looking at the islands where the most interesting things that happened were beings fighting for food. That made her crave entertainment. She listened in when other Stellae talked about their regions and felt jealous. Why is she the only one who has to suffer through boredom?
That was until Poena started interacting more with different stars. Even if he talked with everyone, Nebula felt like he enjoyed chatting with her the most, and she felt the same way. They could discuss for hours but the topics eventually fell into one territory - how unfair it is to be pushed into fulfilling their roles.
It was Poena who mainly led the conversation into this topic but Nebula found herself agreeing with him.
Soon Poena revealed his plans about a revolution.
Nebula at first didn’t want to agree that they should resolve this problem by fighting. Nevertheless she had seen all of the Chaos doings, the unfair treatment, the imprisonment that all Stellae were subjected to when rules were written into their heads. To obey, to stay in place, to not interact with creatures below. They were all enslaved by Chaos.
She knew it all and knew that Chaos wouldn’t listen if they were to confront it.
If they even could confront it.
So finally with all the plans ready, the revolution began.
The day of change
The fall wasn’t that bad as she expected it to be, to her it was quite freeing. Falling freely through the sky, her whole body was caressed by the wind. She didn’t even feel the lack of Chaos magic, it was so natural.
And it was such an amazing feeling.
After landing she just laid there until Poena found her. She followed him without a word, they all knew that the revolution could end this way. She let Peona handle the hundreds of Stellae that fell with them, from both of them Peona was the charismatic leader. She didn’t stay there but began to carry on their plan that was created for when they would fail.
It was quite hard without her magic but she knew what to do.
Her goal was the main crystal. Right now they all were situated on the island that was in the center of the entire Verratum. It was only visible to the first two Stellae - Fatum and Poena. From that he knew and shared that knowledge with Nebula what to expect from this island. To be honest the fall was the best punishment they could ask for, all of them in one place which was already prepared for their arrival. All she had to do was to activate the main crystal.
She finally reached it, its top was visible, a huge spike five times her height made from glittering white material. It was the so-called “battery” of the islands. On its own it had no power but when someone experienced with channeling magic through crystal used it the right way it could be used the same as Chaos magic. Nebula was the one who knew what she was doing, she had experience with Chaos magic challenge through her accessories so she without hesitation touched the crystal.
She summoned the magic and almost collapsed when it hit her, it was much more powerful than the Chaos magic accessories. It felt like the crystal wanted to enter her body, she pushed it away with all her might and concentrated on raising a barrier.
Their plan was to first use the barrier to shield themselves from Chaos and Fatum’s eyes. It was the most important move. It allowed them to move freely without surveillance.
The crystal finally submitted to her and she relaxed not realizing how stiff her body was.
The barrier obscured the sky, she succeeded.
Now she needed to tell Peona about what she felt, the crystal was not supposed to try to possess her body, something weird was going on.
Trivia
- All Stellae have an assigned weapon that manifests from Chaos’ magic. The weapon’s power is equal to their position (Fatum has the most powerful weapon) and some weapons have unique properties.
- After falling the weapon can no longer be manifested as it comes out of Chaos’ magic that is no longer present in fallen Stellae.
- Shimaru’s weapon was a saber and it looked like in the picture.
- Their unique property was speed, it didn’t have much destructive power but its cuts were barely visible for a bare eye.
- Shimaru never used it till the day of the Purge. Even with using it Shimaru didn’t do much, they opposed the use of violence.
- They stick with the idea of Conditional Pacifism - they are against war and violence in principle, but they accept that there may be circumstances when war may lead to less suffering.

The Fallen
Shimaru works for them and depends a bit on them since he doesn't travel away from the main island. He puts his trust on The Fallen and helps them when it's needed. He has some suspicions for The Fallens plans but it’s not that serious for him to intervene or stop trusting them.
