Beloved Book Author/Illustrator, Marcelo is selectively mute, mostly speaking to his spectral-looking gravitational ghosts. They spend their time alone, sleeping in until getting the energy to work on book writings/illustrations. Overall he won’t mind company if your personalities don't clash too harshly.
Marcelo won't speak immediately and uses his ghosts as little emotes for himself! Expressions are minimal, but has the softest smile. He glows all the time, especially where the lighter color of his body is (tail, legs, & stomach).

Marcelo is a very sensitive soul, he was rather insecure and scared of his little ghost buddies at first but learned to love their quirks. They inspired him to work on books, exploring the "weird" and "unusual" to hopefully paint them in a better light.
Insecurities aside, Marcelo has the capability to be very warm and inviting to those he feels safe around. He works best around other quiet/low energy people, it tends to be overstimulating when interacting with more extroverted individuals.

Marlings are a rare alien species born from special meteorites. What makes Marling's especially unique is composition of their skin and fur, which is made up of various metals and minerals that are foreign to Earth.
Though some Marlings do have the ability to speak verbally to some degree, their vocal cords aren't as developed as most other humanoids on Earth so many find it difficult, exhausting, or even painful trying to communicate that way for long periods of time. Therefore, most Marlings are non-verbal and prefer communicate in sign language.
Gov't Assigned Extrovert
Min is Marcelo's roommate... sort of! Min is flashy and flirtatious, all the things Marcelo tries to avoid, but when push comes to shove he still needed a place to stay. Min keeps the apartment tidy while Marcelo makes up most of rent, the two work together in spite of it all. And at the very least, Marcelo can count on Min to stand up for him when he can't find the courage to.
