Sandcloud inherited his mother's tendency to quietly panic and is a pretty worrisome cat. He finds it hard to trust others and even harder to open up about his feelings and secrets. He tends to try to bottle up his emotions in an attempt to keep others from seeing how razor thin his sanity is. 

Sandcloud first met Abby soon after becoming a warrior. Abby was a newly runaway kittypet and had made a home for herself on the edge of Marshclan territory. Sandcloud quite literally ran into Abby as she chased a mouse across the border. The mouse got away and Abby was frustrated, lashing out at Sandcloud for getting in her way. 

Sandcloud hadn't known had to respond, too confused by the contradiction of Abby's collar and her lack of fear of a wild cat. Abby ended up apologizing almost immediately for losing her temper and after realizing she had crossed into clan territory, apologized for that as well. She was actually very polite for the most part, which just left Sandcloud even more confused on how to interact with her. 

When it became clear that Sandcloud wasn't going to respond to her anytime soon Abby awkwardly said goodbye and headed back to her makeshift home. Sandcloud watched her go with something like regret and returned to camp empty paw with a racing mind.

Over the next several moons Sandcloud would find himself heading back to where he first met Abby. He was able to somewhat hold a conversation with her the second time they met and his confidence continued to grow as they saw more and more of each other. Sandcloud knew that he probably shouldn't be talking to Abby, but he couldn't help it. Aside from her outburst during their initial meeting Abby was very polite and friendly and never crossed into clan territory when Sandcloud was around. Usually Sandcloud would be the one crossing the border into neutral territory or sometimes they each just sat on their own side and the border and just chatted. 

Sandcloud fell in love slowly, by the time he even realized how he felt it had been almost twelve moons since he first met Abby and it took him several more moons before he found the courage to tell Abby how he felt. 

Abby ended up laughing when Sandcloud confessed, not at him, as she was quick to reassure him, but at the situation. Abby had been flirting and harboring similar feelings for almost as long as Sandcloud but had never said it out loud. From there the two of them grew even closer and a few moons later Daisy and Sunny were born. 

Daisy and Sunny's birth came with a large amount of guilt on Sandcloud's part. He knew he would never be able to be a meaningful part of their lives the way he and Abby were living. Sandcloud had brought up the idea of Abby joining Marshclan before, especially once Larkstar took over as leader, but once the kits were born it became an even more frequent topic of conversation. Abby had been just about ready to agree to try it when tragedy struck. 

During one of his visits Sandcloud found Abby fatally injured by a fox. Abby had managed to kill the fox and protect her kits but lost her life in the process. Sandcloud found her just before she slipped away, getting to tell her he loved her one last time before he lost her. 

Daisy and Sunny had been left the den Abby called home, unaware of what had happened to their mother when Sandcloud found them. Sandcloud had never been directly introduced to Daisy and Sunny's as their father pet his own request. He wanted to be a part of his kit's lives as much as he could, but knew he would likely fall short and miss a lot. He didn't want his kits thinking their achievements weren't important enough for their own father to come and see them so Sandcloud remained a "friend" of Abby's. The kits had met him and liked him but they were still young and weren't as attached to him as Abby. 

Sandcloud ended up telling Daisy and Sunny what had happened to their mother and then taking them back with him to the clan. Sandcloud said he found them in them near the border with their dead mother (all true) and asked his sister's permission for them to stay in Marshclan. Larksong agreed and while there were definitely whispers about the kits' resemblance to Sandcloud no one voiced their thoughts in front of the entire clan. 

Some of the rumors about Daisykit and Sunkit's parentage died down when it became clear that Sandcloud was mostly avoiding the young kits. He was kind to them if they sought him out, but he didn't tend to visit them in the nursery. Sandcloud harbored a great deal of guilt over Abby's death and was his presence would cause tragedy for his kits as it had done his mate, so he stayed away. 

Sandcloud hasn't revealed the truth about the kits to anyone, but he did admit to have been in love to his mother one late night when neither of them had been able to sleep. He didn't reveal many details and his mother didn't press, but it was enough for Sandstripe to draw her own conclusions. 

Sandcloud wants to tell his kits the truth one day, but when he sees how happy they are with their foster family he feels guilty for even thinking of telling them something that will change their entire world a second time. So he stay quiet, hoping one day to be able to find the right time and words to tell them the truth.
