I have had this guy in my brain for like. months now. He finally has a ref :D everyone appreciate him

Veridan is the main owner and caretaker of the Whisper Court Ghost Sanctuary. He is Willow Whisp's boss, and is in charge of making sure the spirits and investigators are both happy. He does most of his work off-site, to the point where most people wouldn't recognize him as anyone important if he tried to visit. He used to be casual friends with Willow Whisp before Mikal started manipulating him

Veridan is fully aware of the fourth wall and usually hates it. People constantly wondering what he's doing or watching his movements is incredibly distracting, and part of the reason he tries to stay so far away from the main events of the story. He can also read the fonts everyone uses, and often forgets that even those that can see spirits usually can't see their speech bubbles.

Before Mikal, Veridan genuinely cared for the safety of the Sanctuary, and spent most of his time keeping it in check and making sure everyone was happy. After Mikal began to manipulate him, he slowly lost interest in the ghosts as Mikal was making him see them more as tools to be used. If at some point Veridan was to be reminded of who he was before, he would probably be horrified to see who he has become, but unfortunately Mikal tries very hard to isolate him

When using too much of his energy to interact with ghosts, he starts to take on a more bird-like form

Veridan is the Head Caretaker of the Whisper Court Ghost Sanctuary. He recieved the role almost immediately after being hired, as the only other Caretaker on site was too old to continue working. Not only that, but Veridan had the ability to see ghosts, something that could make running the place much easier. He enjoyed the work, but hated the people. He was never good at talking to people, and this job required him to be the living face of the Sanctuary. He hired Willow Whisp almost the second she approached him, not even caring that she could see ghosts too. He just needed someone else to handle the customer service side of things.

Veridan almost never leaves his study, spending his time at the Sanctuary studying those inside, rather than caring for him. The ghosts don't care for him, but he doesn't tend to do much so they see it as no harm done. That was, until Finch arrived.

Finch's arrival seemed to change something in him. Mikal, who had been secretly possessing him for years, finally kicked into full gear when he saw a way to bring his own plans to fruition. Veridan became reckless, snapped at others more often, and had no clue why he relished the feeling of it all.

While Veridan often focused more on the study and science of ghosts, Mikal's influence made him more hands-on, something no one was happy with due to how horribly he took on this role. Willow Whisp had become worried about him, but he never cared. The only thing that mattered was the knowledge he could gain if he could see what would happen if a ghost was torn apart.
