In his mortal state, Fortune was known for being a very risky surfer, doing stuff such as riding with sharks and doing tricks off of boats. But all of that was nothing compared to his ultimate goal: being the first person to surf the Bermuda Triangle and live to tell all about it. Fortune did reach the Triangle with surfboard in hand...but when he got towards the rough waters, reports say that he mysteriously vanished without a trace.
It wasn't a while until Fortune reappeared again though, as someone spotted his ghostly spirit at the beach he grew up at eternally chilling and riding the waves, much to the dismay of everyone seeing a ghost in the flesh while trying to relax.
