Profile

A ginger tux tom with green eyes and freckles on his nose. If he ever is drawn with any accessories, they should be green.

This is my real life cat and I love him very much.

He's very nervous around people, especially little kids. Usually he hides when we have someone visiting. If someone is calm and gentle enough, he can be bribed to go near them with the use of treats. He's very food driven and especially loves fish flavors.
He loves to nap in little hidey holes and sun himself in the window. He also really likes to just sit and sniff at an open window.
His favorite toys are kick toys and strings, and he loves to have the string be wiggled on the otherside of a chair/table leg from him so he can wrap his little arms around the leg to bat at it. He loves catching and eating bugs, but he's afraid to catch spiders ever since an incident with one of those glue spider traps, so now if he sees a spider he just meows and clicks at it until I get rid of it for him.
Because he trusts me so much, I get the special privilege of knowing just how cuddly he can be. He never tires of being pet and especially loves scritches under the chin and around his shoulders. He likes to sleep in my lap as often as possible, but will maybe settle for sleeping beside me. He HATES anything touching his tail, and only barely puts up with me touching his paws because he knows I'll only do it when I'm clipping his claws and he'll get a treat or an extra cuddle when I'm done.
He's cautiously curious about other animals, and has gotten along pretty well with any other pets we've had. He's afraid of dogs at first but if they ignore him, he ignores them back. With cats he tends to approach like he wants to make friends, but he's still very careful and considerate.

Relationship with Lady, my other cat:
When we first got Lady she would hiss at him a lot and he always backed off quickly when she did. She would sit in the hallway and hiss at him if he tried to pass, trapping him in one room or another. He doesn't put up with her trying to bully him anymore, though. He just kinda looks at her and waits for her to quit throwing a fit, or quickly trots past her. She's warmed up to him enough now that she doesn't really try that anymore. Most of the time they just ignore each other, and occasionally they playfight and chase each other around to get out their zoomies.

History:
There was essentially a feral cat colony living in the woods surrounding my childhood home. My sister and I would name all of them and we put out a little food for them, but that's as close as we got to actually claiming any of the cats as ours. Usually when a momma cat would have kittens, we would find out only after the babies were old enough to follow their mom to get some solid food from us. Sometimes we could find the den by following the mewling sounds, tho. Fred's mom was different. Her name was Sandy and she had her babies right under our porch. We found them the morning they were born. Meaning I've technically known Fred since he was born! He had a brother who looked almost identical to him that we named George, and another brother who was fluffier and redder that we named Rusty. Their birthday is May 12 2009.
Fred spent the first year or so of his life being feral. Pretty much all of his family had either disappeared or been adopted by then, and we were planning to move. I was really attached to the little guy, so we brought him with us. Got him neutered and dewormed and all his shots and everything. He was actually properly MY cat then.
He's been with me being as spoiled as I can get away with ever since. <3

His birthday is May 12, 2009!
