• Cain was captured by the same bug that abducted Libitina, though they were sold off early on and didn't undergo the same uncomfortable experiments. They were going to be kept as a personal servant/slave, but wound up killing their "owner" in self-defense, and fled back to the Ancient Basin. They were too late to save their sibling, however, as not only did Libitina escape on their own, but they had already been thoroughly traumatized by their experience. Cain feels guilty over it to this day.
• Though Cain has settled into a little hideaway in Kingdom's Edge, they frequently check the Ancient Basin to see if any new vessels emerge from the Abyss, taking them in and helping them out until they're ready to face the world on their own. Part of the reason they do this is because they hope to help other vessels when they failed to help Libitina.
• Unlike most vessels, Cain is capable of speech. Like their sister Khali, their voice is very quiet, but unlike her, Cain is able to speak full sentences.
