The steward of Tine Lumes, immortal king of Passane, Alcester has held the position for many years. He's grown close to Tine - close enough to more freely state his opinions and critiques of the Immaculate, though he retains a respectful distance still. Many among Tine's court are envious of Alcester's trusted position, and attempt to recruit him to speak to Tine on their behalf, believing that Tine would trust Alcester's offers more than theirs. Alcester accepts the bribes, but never follows through on them.
Though he seems dour and reserved at first glance, his temper and petty grudges are legendary whispers among the palace servants.
