Petra is a breezy, outgoing lover of pastel colors and cheesy rom-coms! They can most commonly be found at a local marketplace or walking a nature trail.
They're known to be pretty resourceful in a pinch, and is really into tinkering & DIY projects! Any gift received from them will no doubt be handmade. They adore anything cute, soft and fluffy, & like to collect plushies and toys & novelty mugs! They love music, and singing & playing guitar as a pastime. Horticulture & cooking are two of their strongest skills and something they take much joy in. Petra is also a vegetarian, & has been for several years.
If one were to ask Petra where they work, they'd respond with "wherever I'm needed"; they're always doing a little bit of this and that. Today they're working at a mechanic's shop and next week you may find them delivering pizza or dog wallking.
They are a proud parent of Shelby, and consider it of their biggest joys & privileges! Raising a baby was a new experience for them, but they're learning a lot about themself in the process.
Petra is also a recovering alcoholic. Their dependence on alcohol was very out of control and was affecting their health, physical and mental. They became a lot happier once they began to take the steps to sobriety.

Petra is an affable & talkative person who's inclined to idle ramblings. They're very sentimental - frequently holding on to seemingly random things because of the smallest associations - and very romantic. They are openly affectionate and expresses it often and in many different ways. They may stumble a bit with it but Petra is always sure to make sure those around them know how important they are.
They're a naturally selfless and kind person; much of their time and energy is spent focused on the wellbeing of their friends and other loved ones. They have to keep in mind that you can't give from an empty cup.
Petra feels they're at their best servicing and helping but has trouble properly balancing things. This overcompensation is mostly in part of their struggle with feelings of inadequacy & the urge to be useful and good at everything. Additionally, Petra does not handle prolonged aloneness or rejection well, and because of that can be a bit too overbearing sometimes, as they form attachments to others easily.

HOBBIES, ETC
Cooking is Petra's passion! They love coming across fresh new recipes and methods, & very often have plenty of leftovers to share. Pasta is their specialty, and their favorite thing to eat. They're very partial to caprese pasta salad, which is a comfort food of theirs, & anything with a creamy mushroom sauce.
Another interest of theirs is repurposing items. Petra likes to breath new life into stuff like wonky old toys and cracked picture frames, either to give them away or keep around their house.
Petra also loves spending free time being out in nature. Whether it's bird watching, taking casual hikes or camping out in a tent, they always find time to appreciate what nature has to offer.
On that note, Petra is a self proclaimed master gardener! They originally picked the hobby as a distraction when they decided to go sober, planting small indoor potted flowers & herbs at first. Soon, they began to take it more seriously and transformed their bare backyard to a lush garden. The feeling of harvesting and cooking with something they grew themself is incredibly fulfilling for them; various herbs & spices like ginger, chives, and lavender are commonplace.

RELATIONS

their co-parent, a very important person who they share a very close bond with. they have a comfortable platonic relationship with each other & work well when it comes to raising their daughter Shelby. the two of them often go out whenever she's free, attending outdoor concerts or sports games, or shopping together for example. Petra loves and respects Aloe a lot & holds a great deal of appreciation for them. they find her unabashed and can-do attitude refreshing.

close friend ; eventual partner! Petra was immediately drawn to Chip from the moment they met & initially was a bit too forward with their attempts of friendship. sooner or later they grew to better understand him and his temperament & they became close, mutually crushing on the other. they like simply being around him, especially watching him work. they enjoy spending time relaxing with each other in Petra's backyard, and doing things like puzzles & creative projects together. Petra often brings him old catalogues & magazine clippings for him to use for his artwork.

their beloved daughter! she doesn't live with them all of the time, but they're still able to spend plenty of time with her. they like to take walks together, have movie nights, play dress-up, and create toys & dolls out of clay and other things to play with. they're very silly when they're with each other!

- their scarred eye happened due to a car accident; they're partially blind in that eye. they have prominent natural eyelashes as well!
- has prickly needles sporadically across the top of their head, their chin, and on the branches on the sides of their head. they're not sharp enough to puncture skin however, and feel more like a very course stubble.
- the flowers on their branches bloom wider when they're really happy or excited; they're infinite & regrow when picked! when they're upset or frustrated the petals tend to droop or even fall off.
- dresses comfy casual, loves warm earthy & pastel colors and shirts with fun graphics and corny & silly phrases, also likes to wear light skirts and dresses ; sometimes accessorizes with a cowboy hat or a bandana around their neck.
TRIVIA
- created in 2020
- I knew I wanted there to be a close child in their life when I started creating them (originally thinking a niece or nephew or cousin), but the exact details didn't come about until May 2023
- the first draft of them had entirely green skin, but I didn't like how it looked. the way the green of their head fades to the brown of their skin coincidentally looks like dirt or roots (cuz... cactus)
