Marcel is a seasoned veteran among veterans. Born a good 20 years before the apocolypse as one of the "last" De LeClare sons of a generation and peak of their close partner - the Cardevac Milleu - Marcel was raised professionally and formally as a skilled killer, gunman, racketeer, and hitman by generations of professionals before him. As the youngest and last intended son of his father, Marcel both assumed and was assumed to spend his life as a dedicated killer and less as a diplomatic individual as he followed his older brothers around on mission after mission, taking on anything from demanding money from avoidant clients, to political assassinations, to assisting the French government is large scale war efforts. Having assisted in the South American Conflict, Marcel saw over half of his siblings fall around the age of 10. The notice of the damage done to the family numbers brought a second generation of De LeClare children as Marcel's projected position in relation to the family began to rapidly change. Shortly after the South American Conflict, Marcel found himself involved in a second high casualty mission regarded as the "church incident" and nothing further, resulting in Marcel going from the 38th in line, to the mere 8th. As much as these would traumatize a normal person (it did but he doesn't see it as such #ToxicMasculinity), these events and his survival defined Marcel as a strong, developed, and dedicated muscle man - dedicating his soul to his work and the family, arguably to the detriment of his personal foresight and ability to think in a not-war driven perspective. More than anything, it prepared him well for the upcoming apocolypse that hit in his early twenties, setting him up to be the sole survivor of the original generation of De LeClares by the establishment of Stuttgart, two years after the onset of the apocalypses. 

Set as one of the few survivors in Stuttgart with years of experience along with his father and younger siblings, Marcel took up a vital role in the stabilization and building of Stuttgart's early military might along with his aging father and his younger siblings following behind him. Seeing the apocolypse as a hard reset to the family and to update the current standings, the De LeClare family decided to formally call Marcel the first born and count down from there. As his father comes closer and closer to retirement, talks of the new heir have been brought about with himself and his younger brother Emeric as the top candidates. However, between his narrow vision, sheer value as a soldier, and lack of proper dedicated nobility training, both the family and Marcel himself find the idea of him being the head of the family a concerning and unlikely situation - even with his boisterous history of field achievements.

• Marcel and Emeric: They're siblings born into what is essential a "bred" family of mafia muscle men; Marcel is technically older but due to circumstances of his life he was raised much more intensely as a "just muslce" and often is lacking in cunning and wit but is an amazing fighter, Emeric on the other hand is much more of a cerebral person, capable of fighting and quite good at it, but he is much more of a refined, serious, and proper dude. Marcel really loves his bother "Emmy" and highly respects him; Emeric finds him ""annoying"" (affectionate / not seriously mad)
