Saying that he has been fairly unlucky may be an understatement. Spengler Von Eldritch, single father to his only son- time and time again he's faced adversity and only seemingly scathes by. While intelligent, if he had his spontenuity under control he could be living a decent life.
Before the hotel- Spengler moved from motel to shelter with his son, facing homelessness was the commonality. One night, the two sought refuge in an abandoned chocolate factory- that is where the change of pace in his life has since then kicked off. Life in the hotel is something that Spengler is conflicted about. While he doesn't have to worry about his son encountering any danger anymore, at the same time- the two of them have been restricted greatly in everyday freedoms. Spengler wants his child to thrive, and grow, this is not the enviornment he was betting on for a new life... But seemingly staying in one space has caused his lies to catch up to him, as he cannot run anymore he needs to face it head on.
Being a pathological liar does not sit well with- anyone. He may have his reasons to be this way, however they do not justify his actions. Awkward and finicky, Spengler is an odd case where he can be as sharp as a nail, but freak out and it all goes out the window. He can be creaky and nervous like a rusty doorhinge- but outgoing and bubbly when he warms up. Unpredictable.
He was born with that crack on his face
In how his hair turned white over the course of his early life and entirely just went white in his early twenties, this is seen as a bad omen and generally he just- believes he is cursed.
Oddly very skilled in a lot of hobbies, its just not applicable to everyday life so they can be really useless. Like- he honestly could, its just that he doesn't want to.
Being the awkward type, until you really get to know him he starts to really become himself which- is rather outgoing. He isn't an introvert surprisingly, he's just a nervous extrovert.
Weirdly dated a lot back in the day, he was also a trouble maker.
This guy is dominant in both hands, who woulda known!
He owned a toyshop at some point in his life. Was an architect but ehhhh-
Unfortunately has had destructive tendencies since a young age, such as; alcoholism stemming from age 15. Its gotten better since then by [extreme means] but his hold on liqor is also horrendously high.
