Shadow Feeders are known to feed on other ponies. This isn't exactly true, but they do feed on the energies of other ponies by biting them and drawing blood. The easiest emotions to feed on are, of course, fear, pain, and determination. But the positive emotions are more filling, not that Shadow Feeders get to experience feeding on them that often.

Shadow Feeders are usually non-physical beings. They take a solid form to feed, then fade out again. They have bladed tails for fighting, cutting their victims to feed from, and as a display of power.
